Last week, we officially launched the Project — a four-year project improving pollution monitoring and biodiversity planning across , , and .

Funded by the Global Environment Facility, implemented by the World Bank Group, and executed by UNOPS.

The ceremonial launch of the Blueing the Caspian Sea initiative took place at the 2026 Regional Ecological Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, where high-level representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan, alongside key partners including UN Environment Programme and the Tehran Convention Secretariat, gathered to mark the kick-off and reaffirm their shared commitment to a healthier Caspian Sea. 🤝

Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work!

At UNOPS, safety isn’t optional — it’s at the heart of everything we do.

Earlier this year, we marked an important milestone in by hosting the country’s first-ever Institution of Occupational Safety and Health training delivered by UNOPS. This initiative reinforced our commitment to safer workplaces and higher standards across all operations.

As a result, 20 UNOPS engineers and 2 national partners successfully earned internationally recognized certification in safety management.

This 🌍, we’re proud to launch Blueing the Caspian Sea: Building Capacities for Pollution Monitoring and Biodiversity Planning, a new project dedicated to protecting one of the world’s most unique and fragile ecosystems.
