Diplomatic School review 🎙️

Meet Christina from Greece, currently doing her Erasmus Mundus master’s. For her, joining the Diplomatic School was “a very smart choice”: a chance to explore security beyond defense and get “a more hands-on experience.”

In just one week in Vienna, she met diplomats, counselors and ambassadors 🌍

Her highlight? The visit to the Polish Embassy, and meeting the counselor (and her baby! 👶)

What does it feel like to negotiate like a diplomat? 🤝

At the Diplomatic School in Vienna, our participants stepped into a real negotiation simulation. One group represented the European Commission, others represented states, and reaching a decision turned out to be anything but easy.

That’s exactly the point. As one participant put it, it was “a practical opportunity to see, to learn and to practically participate… which enhances our diplomatic skills.”

His advice? “People from all backgrounds must join.” Because these courses build confidence, public speaking skills and better communication, whatever your field.

Young people must be recognised not merely as beneficiaries of peace, but as active partners in building and sustaining it.

In this video, Siiri Silvasti, Special Adviser in the Human Dimension Team at the Permanent Mission of Finland to the OSCE .osce , highlights the importance of meaningful youth participation in peacebuilding and conflict prevention.

During Finland’s 2025 OSCE Chairpersonship, this commitment was advanced through initiatives including the Youth, Peace and Security Roadmap, the appointment of a Special Representative on Youth, Peace and Security, and a dedicated Youth Forum.

Meaningful participation goes beyond inviting young people into the room. It means listening to their perspectives, valuing their expertise and giving them a genuine role in shaping decisions.

Peace cannot be built for young people without being built with them.
