Yesterday we were honored to host sixteen Animal Science students from Chinhoyi University of Technology for an educational field visit focused on practical poultry production and sustainable farming systems.

The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to bridge classroom theory with real world experience in free range poultry management. During the tour, the students explored key aspects of poultry production, including breeding, housing systems, feeding and nutrition, disease prevention and marketing strategies.

As an organization committed to empowering the next generation of agricultural professionals, we believe that hands on exposure is essential in developing knowledgeable and innovative animal scientists who will contribute to the growth of Zimbabwe’s livestock sector.

We were impressed by the students’ enthusiasm, thoughtful questions and eagerness to learn. Their passion gives us great confidence in the future of agriculture in Zimbabwe.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Chinhoyi University of Technology for choosing to partner with us in nurturing practical agricultural skills. We look forward to continuing to support academic institutions through training, mentorship and industry collaboration.

Yesterday was the last day at and it was a great success for the Zimbabwe Free Range Poultry Association

We had an amazing time engaging with the members of the public some subsistence farmers and aspiring farmers, sharing knowledge on Free Range Poultry and how one can turn it into a profitable commercial farming business. We also answered questions and helped many understand the value of quality poultry production.

Some farmers also had the opportunity to purchase good pure breeds directly from our stand 🐓

We closed ZITF on a high note and we say to everyone who visited us. Bulawayo, we’ll be back soon with our Masterclasses! Stay ready! 🇿🇼

Today was all about sharing knowledge. We hosted different groups at our stand and trained farmers, youth and small businesses on

1.Free Range Poultry Basics – Housing, feeding, and disease control for healthy indigenous chickens (road runners).
2. How to Commercialise Road Runners – Turning your fowl run into a sustainable business:
- Start small, grow with your flock
- Use local feeds to cut costs
- Target markets: eggs, meat, breeding stock and manure
3. Sustainability – Road runners are tough, low cost and high demand. Perfect for rural and urban farmers looking to have good income.

Today we are at the Maize and Livestock Field Day in Norton, held at Railway 28 Farm, Ward 14, Plot 69 of Mr Gonzo, Mashonaland West.

Hosted by Mr and Mrs T. Gonzo, the event under the theme FOOD SECURITY EVERYWHERE EVERYDAY brought together key players in agriculture To***co Industry & Marketing Board Global Animal Feeds Zimbabwe Free Range Poultry Association to share knowledge and drive sustainable growth.

As the Zimbabwe Free Range Poultry Association, we were proud to be part of this impactful day and to support the host farmer through the donation of 200 day old chicks, contributing to strengthening free-range poultry production and rural livelihoods.

The keynote address was done by Mashonaland West Provincial Director Mr Masiiwa he gave out a call to action to farmers that KURIMA NYAMA KURIMA MARI
