Today it's Earth Day, we are not just talking about the planet, we are playing for it.

Through our Climate Games, we are turning action into movement (play, learn and act).

PLAY: Making climate education engaging and hands-on so youth and communities actually want to join in and not miss out.

LEARN: Breaking down complex issues like ozone layer, carbon sinks, deforestation, water stress, and illegal mining into relatable choices and consequences.

ACT: Moving from awareness to real solutions from safer mining practices to solar-dried foods that cut waste and protect our land.

Protecting the Earth is not a one-day event. It’s what we play, learn and do together, every day.

Members gathered at Ngamo Resort for a powerful Leadership Hangout hosted by YMCA Gweru in partnership with JCI Gweru.
The hangout provided a dynamic platform for members to engage in interactive team-building activities, leadership discussions, and networking opportunities.
Designed to strengthen essential leadership skills such as communication, resilience, and collaboration, the hangout created a meaningful space for personal and collaborative growth.
The signature Climate Games stole the limelight.
Members were encouraged to participate in upcoming programs and take an active role in shaping their communities.
The hangout was graced by National Youth Executive Committee Members Thamsanqa Nyathi, Tinashe Kasina and Kadoma Branch Member Bridget Shanero.

YMCA joined stakeholders at Sungano Motel in Shurugwi for the Vungu NAC March Sector Meeting to review progress and map the way forward in the HIV response.

While strides have been made under ZNASP IV, critical gaps remain, new HIV infections among key populations (prisoners, s*x workers, adolescent girls & young women), children and adolescents falling behind on HIV diagnosis, uneven access to adolescent-friendly services, retention and viral suppression challenges among youth, late testing and ART initiation for men, and under-optimized index testing and paediatric PITC.

Looking ahead to ZNASP V, the vision is clear, A Zimbabwe Free of HIV and AIDS, with goal to End AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 through sustained epidemic control.

Achieving this requires all of us, stakeholders, communities, and partners to work together in programming and the fight against HIV. No one can do it alone.

Together let us push for a future where every child, young person, and key population member has access to the care, treatment and support they deserve.

Gweru YMCA trained 56 Officers in Charge, Rehabilitation Officers and interns in the Midlands Province (from Gokwe to Mberengwa), on Entreprenuership and introduced the Climate Games. Participants took time to create a Persona.

Entreprenuership and Climate Games are important tools to inmates and prepares them for reintegration into society once released.

Other presentations in this workshop where on Evidence Based Interventions and Counseling.

ZPCS has moved from incarceration to Rehabilitation, Restoration and Reintegration.

YMCA participated in the World NGO Day commemorations in Gweru today.The platform recognized and celebrated key achievements and contributions of Civil Society Organizations to national development, social cohesion and community transformation.

Today's celebration was themed, "Celebrating People-Driven Transformation: Adapt, Innovate, and Empower for Resilience and Sustainable Impact". Civil society plays an important role in advancing sustainable development and strengthening resilience in the face of evolving socio-economic challenges.
