Preamble ‘Everything falls and rises on leadership’ John. C. Maxwell. Listening and observing the world today, every home; every community; and every institution, is striving to get better, some- how, some-what, and in some- ways. The search for right leadership- drive is a major preoccupation and concern of our generation. Affirming on the element of this truth, Dr Delanyo Adadevoh (President-International Leadership Foundation) echoes that the problem in Africa is not lack of new ideas, but lack of leaders of integrity. Dr Adadevoh’s thought implies that we need the right quantity and quality of leaders of integrity to propel the continent of Africa to her premier destiny. National Leadership Development Trust- (NLDT-Africa) is a not for profit entity, registered under the laws of Zambia in 2008 (as a Private Company Limited by guarantee) with the sole mandate of developing communities of Trust-worthy Young African leaders. Advisory Board of NLDT-Africa The Advisory Board of Directors are responsible for overseeing the overall operations of NLDT-Africa in Zambia. They also give guidance and necessary motivational support to the Executive leadership team. The members of Advisory Board serve on voluntary basis and they can help NLDT-Africa in any area of interest or need where they may have the expertise or influence. The current advisory board comprises of the following persons : Mr. Musa Mwenye (Solicitor General); Mr. Sam Simukonde (Manager-Citibank); Mr. Trevor Simumba(Practice Leader, Independent International Business Consultant); Mr. John Lukisa ( Director-Cavendish University-Zambia); Dr. Amon Ngongola (Resident Doctor Liteta Hospital); Miss Harriet Yowela ( Manager-Restless Youth Development-Zambia); Ms. Patricia Chinyanta (Assistant Dean of Students-Copper Belt University); Mrs. Pamela Mumbi ( Former Executive Director- International Justice Mission Zambia); Mr. Patrick Tembo (Operations Manager-NLDT-Africa); and Mr. George Arudo (Executive Director-NLDT-Africa). The executive Leadership Team This is the team charged with the responsibility of implementing all the programs of NLDT-Africa under the guidance and oversight of the Advisory Board. All the executive team members serve on a voluntary basis. Program Officers: Mr.Jack Mulikita Ms.Faith Mulenga Ms. Janet Phiri Ms.Mary Kabombe Mr. Mwenda Lupiya Mr. Medson Moyo Mr. Daniel Kapambwe The PURPOSE of NLDT-Africa is to add value in the African National communities through the development of younger leaders of uncommon mix of character and competence [herein dubbed INTEGRITY] from the strategic Primary& Secondary schools; Universities and Tertiary Colleges; and Corporate and Global communities in Africa The Vision of NLDT-Africa is a community of identifiable younger African leaders of Character and Competence [INTEGRITY] from Strategic National Primary and Secondary Schools; University Campuses and Strategic Tertiary Colleges; and Corporate & Global institutions who are distilled with the integrated leadership skills and competences; from the diverse exposures, experiences and equipping that the continent of Africa and the world can provide, with utmost simplicity as possible. The MISSION of NLDT-Africa is the laying down and strengthening of a Community of Leadership of Integrity in Africa through intentional character and competence development in and through the current leadership cream in the Strategic African National Primary and Secondary Schools; University Campuses and strategic Tertiary Colleges; and Corporate and Global communities. The core Mission element of NLDT is to bring about functional Leadership Principles and Practices into the Private, Public, Corporate, Civic, Social. Economic, Spiritual, Political and NGO circles. This mission is attainable by building the leadership capacities of Younger African Leaders. NLDT-Africa’s rallying call is Developing Communities of Identifiable Trustworthy African Leaders. Our Values The spirit of African community and Team work: Everyone belongs and needs and feels accepted by each other as Younger African Leaders. And so everyone kicks the ball!
