Today, our team from Mutamino, Chainda, and Kapete Community Associations came together at Chainda Combined School to make a difference - for both people and the environment.

We recognise that the health of our communities and the health of our planet are deeply connected. Every bottle collected, every piece of plastic and paper picked up, and every mindful step we take towards a cleaner environment is an act of self-care and community care.

Together, we are creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable communities—one small action at a time.

Chongwe Child Development Agency this month of June launched WATTS ON Project with support from ChildFund Zambia through the Econic Earth Foundation.
As part of our commitment to improving children's access to quality education, solar lamps have been distributed to Grade 5, 6, and 7 learners at the following schools:
- Chaola Primary School
- Nkoloma Primary School
- Chitemalesa Combined School
- Chasha Primary School
- Chibengelele Primary School
Many learners in our communities have limited or no access to reliable electricity, making it difficult to study after sunset. These solar lamps will provide a clean, safe, and sustainable source of light, enabling learners to extend their study hours, complete homework, and prepare for their future with greater confidence.
We extend our sincere appreciation to ChildFund Zambia and the Econic Earth Foundation for partnering with us to brighten the futures of children in Chongwe & Rufunsa Districts.

Today, youths enrolled under Chongwe Child Development Agency (CCDA) from our Mutamino, Chainda, and Kapete Community Associations will be attending the 2026 Inter-Schools Debate hosted by the Chongwe District Mental Health Team at Chongwe Secondary School Main Hall.

Held under the theme:
“Unmasking the Appeal, Countering Ni****ne and To***co Addiction”, the debate creates an important platform for young people to engage in conversations around mental health, substance abuse, and informed decision-making.

As part of our continued commitment to youth development, mental health awareness, and child wellbeing, CCDA is proud to support initiatives that empower young people to confidently participate in discussions that affect their lives and communities.

We look forward to seeing our youths learn, engage, and contribute their voices to these important conversations.

Our school visits continue

As part of our education and early childhood development efforts, , together with the Ministry of Education, visited Nyashishi Primary School as part of a series of engagements in our supported schools.

During the visit, learners took part in an Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) session and a Literacy Club activity.

It was exciting to see learners confidently reading, writing, and understanding what they learn while also gaining important knowledge about their health and wellbeing.
We continue working with schools to support children in both learning and life skills.

Today, Chongwe Child Development Agency (CCDA), working together with the Ministry of Education, hosted a Reading and Writing Competition under our Literacy Club programme.

Learners from Chimusanya Primary School and Chaola Primary School came together to showcase their reading and writing skills—and the results were amazing!

From confident reading to creative writing, it was inspiring to see how far the learners have come. This is exactly what Literacy Clubs are all about—helping children grow, express themselves, and believe in their abilities.

To encourage them even further, all participants received books to continue practicing and improving.
