Alliance For Community Action Zambia

Alliance For Community Action Zambia Public resource management (PRM) monitoring intervention in Zambia. We are an NGO based in Lusaka, Zambia. ACA works, "For the Right to Accountability."

The ACA primarily works in constituencies as opposed to districts and provinces. By adopting the constituency as a microcosm of the nation, we able to target all our efforts at the local level with the aim of drawing lessons that we use to advocate for change in the way public resources are managed nationally.

This past week, our team was in Isoka and Mambwe districts, engaging communities on the constitutional duties of elected officials as well as the workings of the new Mixed-Member Proportional Representation (MMPR) system as part of our wider programme in strengthening citizens' understanding and participation in Zambia's electoral process.

Over 490 community members attended the town hall meetings in the two districts.
The Ask-Rural vote is being implemented in Chipangali, Mambwe, Kanchibiya and Isoka districts with support from ActionAid Zambia and the Swedish Government through the Embassy of Sweden in Lusaka.
