Some causes are bigger than all of us. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support the Steps of Courage Walk for Cancer over the past weekend. We are truly honoured to have played even a small part in such an important cause.

To every participant, supporter & cheerleader - thank you for showing up & making a difference. You are all awesome!

We celebrate the survivors, stand alongside those still fighting, & remember those we have lost. Every step carries a story, & every bit of support counts.

Together, we walk for hope, strength & a future with more tomorrows.

As we continue celebrating the rich heritage of Round Table Mossel Bay 32, we take another step back in time. ⏳

Today, we honour Natie Myerson (1933 - 2012), who served as Chairman from 1963 to 1965.

A multi-talented, adventurous & much-loved personality, Natie was an architect, businessman, local public figure, yachtsman & pilot - truly a man for all seasons. He also served as Round Table South Cape Area Chairman.

Known as “The Flying Architect”, his architectural work extended far beyond Mossel Bay, reaching Strand, Beaufort West, Graaff-Reinet & even Grahamstown.

His passion for sailing saw him play a role in the formative years of the Mossel Bay Yacht Club, where he served as President for nine consecutive years. At the age of 64, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by joining a three-man crew on a transatlantic sailing voyage to the Caribbean.

His love of aviation also led to his involvement in the construction of the Mossel Bay airfield at Asla Park. He subsequently joined the South African Air Force’s 109 Reservist Squadron, eventually rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel as Officer Commanding.

Natie was equally active in community & civic life. He became the youngest Master of the Mossel Bay Masonic Lodge & was also an active Rotarian. In addition, he dedicated 22 years to the Mossel Bay Town Council, serving as Mayor on two occasions.

As we continue celebrating the rich heritage of Round Table Mossel Bay 32, we take another step back in time. ⏳️

Today, we honour George Bolus, who served as Chairman from 1962 to 1963.

After marrying Lucia Vintcent, George joined the prominent family business, Prince Vintcent & Co. In Mossel Bay’s thriving coastal community of the 1960s, connections between local businesses, young professionals, the municipal council & Round Table often came together to support civic initiatives & strengthen the town.

George was also an integral part of the wider South Cape Round Table network, strengthening operations & sharing in fellowship with neighbouring Tables George Round Table 30 & Round Table Oudtshoorn 33.

More than six decades later, we continue to honour the men who helped shape our Table & the legacy they left behind.

DCY encourages men to speak openly, face life’s challenges together & embrace a healthier view of masculinity - one where empathy, emotional intelligence & asking for help are signs of strength, not weakness.

Because no man should have to fight his battles alone.

As we continue celebrating the rich heritage of Round Table Mossel Bay 32, we turn another page. ⏳

Today, we honour Alfred Möller (often phonetically written as Molker), who served as Chairman from 1961 - 1962.

Alfred was a renowned photographer who served in a notable year of local change. Major regional infrastructure upgrades began, including the reconstruction of the historic Robinson Pass connecting Mossel Bay to Oudtshoorn, which became a major subject for local landscape documentation.

The year also marks a prominent era for his work & the town's history, coinciding with major local events such as the declaration of the Mossel Bay Post Office Tree as a National Monument. Local historical records frequently highlight his contributions to preserving the town's mid-20th-century visual history.

The names may change. The legacy lives on. ✨
