Hykie Berg was the key note speaker at the MBBC's July network. If you missed the opportunity to listen to his message, here are the key points:
FIVE KINGDOM KEYS TO SUCCESS
Hykie Berg, well known actor, author, winner of Survivor, accredited transformational coach and motivational speaker (and for others Dr Conrad Bester of Binnelanders) held more than 200 guest spell bound at the Mossel Bay Business Chamber’s July network meeting with his talk on “From Idea to an Impact.”
He emphasised the fact that today success is measured by money and what we have. BUT what is success really? Steve Jobs defined success through passion, perseverance and authenticity, famously sharing core insights like loving your work, chasing innovation and following your intuition.
According to Hykie success is fulfilling something for the purpose it was made for. He added that your success, no matter how little, matters to God. He made you and His name is attached to the obedience you show in fulfilling a task.
“You must realise that it is never about opportunities and difficulties. It is about WHAT you do with what happens,” he said and added that YOU have to grow into the change before things will change. YOU determine what is going to happen.
Contrary to popular believe, everybody is born to lead. You just need to find your purpose. If you have a vision it will create a passion and passion inspires people that will start following you. The vision also gives you a purpose.
Hykie then highlighted the five kingdom keys to success. According to him Genesis 1:26 is the first business commercial in the Bible that gives businesses a mandate. It states that “man has dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thin that creeps on the earth.” In verse 28 it says that God gave humanity a divine blessing and job to be fruitful and multiply and to have dominion over the animals – this is also known as the “Creation Mandate” that sets the core purpose for human life on earth.
Hykie highlighted the five keys as being: Fruitful, Multiply, Replenish (distribute), Subdue and Dominate. We are all born with seeds/talents and you need to establish what yours are. Then work on developing these seeds to be fruitful. You must then work to multiply these talents (do not just stick to one) and replenish (share) these seeds/talents with other people. Then you need to subdue (bring under control) your products and make sure people want your product and then you need to be the best in the field. You need to dominate your vision.
“Are you willing to go through the pain to reach your dream?” he asked and added that everyone possesses seeds and that the world needs your seeds. Develop you seeds and be fruitful, then give your fruit away (share) and see what happens. “Blessings you never expected will come your way,” he said.
