Hart & Bosch Village parkrun

Hart & Bosch Village parkrun Hart & Bosch Village parkrun, FREE, weekly 5km timed event for all at 08:00, regardless of the weather. Every Saturday at - 08:00am. It is also lots of FUN!

At Hart & Bosch Village near Hartenbos Heights. Hartenbos parkrun launched on 14 March 2015 in Mossel Bay and we had 234 awesone events under this name. We had to relocate to a new venue (Outeniquasbosch Wildlife Village) and so it happened that we became Outeniquasbosch parkrun in September 2019. We had our 25th event at Outeniquasbosch on 14 March 2020 (exactly 5 years from the date we originall

y launched as Hartenbos parkrun) when Covid-19 forced all parkruns to be cancelled. During the period that parkruns were “put on ice”, development at Outeniquasbosch Wildlife Village proceeded at a fast pace. There was always the possibility that when the Home Owners Association takes over the management of the Village, they might not renew permission to operate there. We were therefore very pleased when the landowners of Hart & Bosch Village offered us the opportunity to use their premises for our parkrun. From launching as Hartenbos parkrun to our current Hart & Bosch Village parkrun we have come nearly full circle. For those who do not know what a parkun is: parkrun is a free, weekly, 5km fun run/fun walk, not a race, which encourages a healthy lifestyle and community. It is an open event and everybody is invited, young and old, even if you are not a runner. The ONLY request we have is to register online at www.parkrun.co.za and print your own bar code – if you want your results after every event. You can, however, still participate even if you did not register but you will not receive results. Children, parents and grandparents are welcome! Children under the age of 11 should be accompanied by an adult. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed at our parkrun. Hart & Bosch Village parkrun depends on the community for its existence, and there are no entry fees involved. All work is done voluntarily and therefore we would like to request our community to get involved and also help as volunteers. Please send us an email by clicking on the “Send Email” link located at the right-hand corner of the cover photo should you require more information or want to become involved as a volunteer. Additional information about the Hart & Bosch Village parkrun, driving instructions, map or a description of the course, GPS co-ordinates etc can be found here: http://www.parkrun.co.za/hartenboschvillage/course/

THANK YOU/ BAIE DANKIE

Thank you very much to the following people who made our SPRING RUN so EXTRA special yesterday.

• Marietjie and Athol Saunders for the lovely decorations, including painted stones, yummy jellies, fresh fruit etc etc.
• Amanda Labuschagne wat versierings gestuur het alhoewel sy nie self daar kon wees nie.
• Christo and Marinda for the buckets of fresh flowers.
• Reinhardt Greyling for the bottles of sparkling water.
• The Labuschagne family – for the two big, yummy celebration cakes for Johan Snr who has now captured our memories on 250 occasions.
• Vir die mense wat die heerlike, vars vrugte gebring het: *At & Riana, Ingrid, Riana & Francois, Richard, Annemarie & Lizzie, Martie’s group – the “Tutu clan” soos ek hulle noem, Stefanus & Sunel en Ronel Eitz*.

Ek vra groot omverskoning as ek iemand uitgelaat het – my ou grys kop sukkel soms om by te hou.

With so much generosity, beauty and positivity, people did not even notice the mud pools along the route.

YOU are all AWESOME!

I can also share that Kallie is getting better – little by little every day. Hopefully he will be out of hospital one of these days.

Have a lovely evening and week everybody.
