At Hart & Bosch Village near Hartenbos Heights. Hartenbos parkrun launched on 14 March 2015 in Mossel Bay and we had 234 awesone events under this name. We had to relocate to a new venue (Outeniquasbosch Wildlife Village) and so it happened that we became Outeniquasbosch parkrun in September 2019. We had our 25th event at Outeniquasbosch on 14 March 2020 (exactly 5 years from the date we originall

y launched as Hartenbos parkrun) when Covid-19 forced all parkruns to be cancelled. During the period that parkruns were “put on ice”, development at Outeniquasbosch Wildlife Village proceeded at a fast pace. There was always the possibility that when the Home Owners Association takes over the management of the Village, they might not renew permission to operate there. We were therefore very pleased when the landowners of Hart & Bosch Village offered us the opportunity to use their premises for our parkrun. From launching as Hartenbos parkrun to our current Hart & Bosch Village parkrun we have come nearly full circle. For those who do not know what a parkun is: parkrun is a free, weekly, 5km fun run/fun walk, not a race, which encourages a healthy lifestyle and community. It is an open event and everybody is invited, young and old, even if you are not a runner. The ONLY request we have is to register online at www.parkrun.co.za and print your own bar code – if you want your results after every event. You can, however, still participate even if you did not register but you will not receive results. Children, parents and grandparents are welcome! Children under the age of 11 should be accompanied by an adult. Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed at our parkrun. Hart & Bosch Village parkrun depends on the community for its existence, and there are no entry fees involved. All work is done voluntarily and therefore we would like to request our community to get involved and also help as volunteers. 🎬✨ This week's invitation video features highlights from last Saturday's parkrun, including a few humorous moments courtesy of parkrun South Africa's own Bruce Fordyce. If you missed them the first time around, now's your chance for a second laugh! 😄

Despite the severe flooding of the past few days, parkrun goes on! The route will most definitely be wet, so come prepared for puddles, splashes, and perhaps a little extra adventure along the way 💦👟

The forecast is for overcast and cool conditions, making for a comfortable morning to run, jog, walk, volunteer, or simply cheer others on.

Why not invite your friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, and acquaintances to join you? The more feet on the course, the more stories we create together.

Once again, we were fortunate enough to host a parkrun every Saturday during May, although it was and go on 9th May when we only had 102 participants. We had a total of 1 494 participants who completed the course – an average of 299 per week. And would you guess it? Our highest weekly attendance was 350 on 30th June when Bruce Fordyce joined us.

WELL DONE to the 60 people who completed their very first parkrun. We hope to see you again and again. Welcome to the world of parkrun! Daar was 170 mense met vlerke aan hul voete wat Personal Bests opgestel het – including Age Graded Records. We also had 90 participants who visited our parkrun for the very first time. We hope you enjoyed your time with us.

Our Unknowns were down from last month’s 6.09% to 2.99% of attendance. Whoop Whoop! Our “Can I Help” volunteers who assist people to register or help when participants forgot to bring their barcode feel very chuffed with this figure.

Of the 229 different volunteers, 125 of them volunteered without a run-credit while the other 104 received a credit for both participating and volunteering. We also had 6 first-time volunteers. A BIG THANK YOU to you all! Without volunteers there can be no parkrun!

We had loads and loads of people who achieved parkrun milestones for participating as well as volunteering. WELL DONE to you all! Every milestone is indeed very special.

Hart & Bosch Village parkrun ROCKS! En so sê ons almal. And just for good measure - a LOUD WHOOP WHOOP for EVERYBODY (including the very welcome Visitors) who make our parkrun so special - we ALL ROCK!
