Session 16 of 23 for 2026 was held this past weekend and was a huge success - thank you to everyone who made it through for making our Women's Month overall, memorable.
We ended off August 2026 mentoring sessions with a focus on Confidence In Young people as a skill to leverage upon for development. We had interactive activities and take-home notes for how teens can build confidence.
Our Mentees did a "Confidence Builder Wall" activity where they got to learn how to use the 9 confidence habits applying them to real life scenarios. It's important that young people be reminded that simplicity in confidence is just as powerful, so is being aware of self, quiet and firm. When we understand ourselves, we are better able to relate to our environments.
Confidence can be packaged, groomed and bottled, must be used appropriately towards establishing ourselves within society and to know what works for us and what doesn't. Confidence can be a key decision maker when we sell ourselves for opportunities and it is important that we arm ourselves with it.
We are now officially 7 sessions away from ending the year and we are excited with what still lies ahead for us in our developmental journey. Plenty of the usual favourites still to come.
We are grateful for the commitment as shown by our team of mentors and for their active roles in the organization.
Reminder that the Lebone Academic Support Programme is still available during the week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5 PM and on Saturdays from 9-12 Noon. Allow us to help you thrive academically. Do get in touch to find out more.
Our next session is on the 12th September as we usher in Spring. We can't wait to see you then.
