For 20 years, WomHub and WomEng have been building the women who build Africa. That is our ecosystem approach. That is .

We have worked across 22 African countries, from Ghana to Kenya to Eswatini to Uganda, supporting over 1,200 female founders solving the continentโ€™s biggest problems in science, technology, engineering, mining, and manufacturing.

Through programmes like our Green Accelerator Programme, Training for Green with IYBA-SEED, GirlEng with De Beers, and our partnership with the Royal Academy of Engineering, we are making sure women in STEM have the capital, networks, and opportunities they need to lead.

The results? Over $10 million in capital raised post programme with more than 1,700 jobs created. Three innovation hubs in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and East London where founders build every single day.

We build, we fund and we launch the women building Africa. That is the work we have been doing to a continent.

Happy Africa Day.

This past Saturday, WomEng held the Engineers Connect Fun Run across South Africa ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ, Botswana ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ผ, and Namibia ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฆ, bringing together fellows, alumni, and allies for a morning of movement, connection, and community.

Held at WomHub JHB Hub Sandton, Airport Junction Mall in Botswana, and Avis Nature Reserve in Namibia, the event created space for women in engineering to engage beyond formal settings and strengthen the relationships that sustain long-term growth.

What stood out most was the ease with which connections happened. Conversations turned into mentoring moments, alumni reconnected with current fellows, and new relationships formed naturally along the route. The visibility of the event also drew in women who were not initially part of the run, joining out of curiosity and becoming part of the experience. Engineers Connect continues to show that strong professional networks are not only built in offices or conference rooms, but in shared spaces where women can show up fully, connect openly, and move forward together.

To make sure you donโ€™t miss the next event and stay up to date with activities planned for each country, please fill in the form with your updated details, follow us on social media, and if you are an alumni who is not yet part of the alumni group, let us know via DM.

Today is Workers Day, and we want to talk about the ones who make it all happen.

The cheerleaders, the champions, the supporters, the huggers. The people who work tirelessly so that young women can go from an idea to a business, from a classroom to a boardroom.

These are the people who support our young women all the way until they build their businesses along their path to greatness.

So to our team: we see you. We appreciate you. Thank you for helping to make the magic happen.

Happy Workers Day.

This Freedom Day, we reflect on what true economic freedom looks like in South Africa.

For us at WomHub and WomEng, economic freedom means a young girl knowing she can become an engineer. It means a young woman gaining work readiness skills so she can thrive in her first job. It means a woman founder securing the capital to scale her business and hire from her community. It means families eating, communities growing, and dignity multiplying.

When you support women and girls in STEM, you donโ€™t just free one person. You free families. You free communities. You free the economy.

Today is Girls in ICT Day and the theme is "AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future." That theme is exactly what we do at WomHub and WomEng.

Through WomEng, we run the GirlEng Technovation Camp where girls build their own STEM solutions, the Future Skills Programme teaching women across Africa AI and cybersecurity, and cybersecurity programmes that prepare young women for digital protection careers.

Through WomHub, we run the Women in Tech South Africa incubator for early-stage women founders in tech, the Female Funding Fit Programme to help women-led tech businesses become investment ready, and the De Beers Trailblazer Accelerator for women-led tech businesses focused on green tech and climate innovation.

That is how we build the ecosystem from a girl's first robot to a woman founder scaling her tech company, and that is how girls shape the digital future.

Happy Earth Day 2026! Today, as the world focuses on "Our Power, Our Planet," we are celebrating the young women who are building a sustainable future. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š

At WomEng, we have been working since 2006 to ensure girls and young women are not left out of the green economy. Our programmes are actively shaping the next generation of climate innovators:

๐ŸŒฑ Training for Green (T4G) powered by IYBA-SEED: Upskilling female engineering students with the sustainability skills needed for the energy transition.

๐ŸŽ“ Southern Africa Fellowship powered by De Beers Group: Developing leadership, innovation, and renewable energy skills for soon to be engineering graduates across South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia.

๐Ÿ”ง GirlEng Technovation Camps: Getting high school girls excited about climate tech, AI, and cybersecurity through hands-on learning.

You cannot solve the climate crisis without half the world's talent. We are making sure that talent is ready.

What have you done this Earth Day to make a difference?

We talk about the right to education. We talk about the right to work.
But we rarely talk about the right to participate in the future.

In 2025, women-led businesses in Africa received less than 3% of total venture capital funding. That is not a funding gap. That is a systemic denial of economic justice. And it is exactly what WomHub has spent 18 years working against.

The right to economic justice.
Through our incubators and accelerators we take women founders from early-stage to investor ready. Not just employees in the fourth industrial revolution, owners.

The right to science.
Everyone has the right to enjoy the benefits of scientific progress. But you cannot enjoy what you were never invited to build. By aiming to empower 1 million girls into STEM, WomHub is making sure the world being built ,AI, engineering, infrastructure and climate tech, is designed by everyone, for everyone.

The right to a sustainable future.
Through our Green Acceleration Programme and Women in Circular Mining, women are leading the climate economy. When women lead in green, the return is not just financial. It is planetary. ๐ŸŒ

20 years of ecosystem building. Founders raising millions. Hundreds of jobs created. A seat at the W20, G20 and UN Women, advocating for female engineers and entrepreneurs on the world stage.

Human rights are not just found in courtrooms. They are found in code, in labs and in the circular economy.

Happy International Women's Day ๐Ÿ’œ

To every girl who was told engineering wasn't for her.
To every woman who sat in a lecture hall and wondered if she belonged.
To every female engineer building things the world has never seen before.
This day is for YOU.

WomEng was built because we refused to accept a world where women are missing from the rooms where the future is being designed. And every single year, we watch what happens when you give women the skills, the community, and the belief, they don't just enter the room. They redesign it.

Today we celebrate 20+ years of women who built anyway. Who solved anyway. Who led anyway.

You are not the exception. You are the standard. ๐Ÿ’œ
