Youth Day 2026 ❤️

On the 16th of June Lifeline Northern Cape team was honoured to spend the day serving alongside the youth, elders, and members of INDAMWASA (Interdenominational Mothers’ Union Association of South Africa), in collaboration with Galeshewe Ministers Fraternal.

Together, we visited the community of Samaria, where many people are living under challenging conditions. We distributed clothing, warm soup, and bread to those in need, sharing not only essential items but also compassion, dignity, and hope.

We are grateful and blessed to have been part of this meaningful initiative. Youth Day is not only about remembering our history, but also about taking action to build a better future for our communities. Yesterday was a reminder that when we work together, we can make a real difference in the fight against poverty in Kimberley.

In commemoration of Youth Day, SAPS in partnership with Lifeline proudly participated in a 16 June athletics event, bringing together young boys in a spirit of unity, discipline, and healthy competition. Through sport, we honor the courage of the youth of 1976 while inspiring today's generation to strive for excellence, leadership, and positive change. Together, we are building stronger, safer, and more empowered communities.

💙 June is Men’s Mental Health Month💙

To every man: your feelings are valid, your struggles are real, and your life matters.

Strength is not about suffering in silence it’s about having the courage to speak up, ask for help, and prioritize your well-being. This month, let’s break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and create spaces where men feel seen, heard, and supported.

It’s okay to rest.
It’s okay to be vulnerable.
It’s okay to not have everything figured out.
And it’s okay to ask for help.

You are not alone. Your story matters. Your mental health matters.

The Gauteng Department of Health is rolling out Lenacapavir, a long-acting HIV prevention injectable that provides protection for up to six months. We are at Stanza Bopape Community Health Centre in Mamelodi, one of 133 health facilities across the province now offering Lenacapavir.

The response from the Mamelodi community has been overwhelmingly positive, with residents coming out in large numbers to take proactive steps towards protecting their health. By 14h00, more than 90 individuals had already been initiated, with the facility expected to surpass 100 initiations by the end of the day.

Members of the public are reminded that while Lenacapavir is highly effective in preventing HIV, it does not replace the use of condoms, which remain essential for preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unintended pregnancies.

Today's Outreach the Department of health was providing X-ray screenings and Lifeline VEPs provided HIV testing services this outreach was to promote better health and well-being in our community.

Knowing your status and accessing timely healthcare are important steps toward a healthier future.

Together, we can break stigma, encourage prevention, and support positive health outcomes for all.
