For the last few years, we have been fighting incredibly hard for one of our HOLAH kiddos to get his birth certificate.
There is so much behind this story, and for the sake of his privacy, there is only so much we can share. But after years of fighting, we finally have a court date. For the first time in a long time, we can see a little light at the end of what has felt like a very long tunnel.
This little boy has waited YEARS for a family of his own. And the heartbreaking reality is that, without a birth certificate, he cannot be adopted. Through circumstances beyond our control, obtaining this vital document has been an incredibly difficult battle.
We have incredible lawyers fighting alongside us, and we are so grateful that we have finally reached this point. But with our court date set for 6 November, we have one urgent hurdle to overcome.
We need to raise R10 000 to cover the cost of having the necessary legal documents served on the other parties involved by lawyers in Pretoria.
We could keep looking for alternatives, but time is simply not on our side. The court date is fast approaching, and we cannot allow finances to stand between this boy and the future family he so desperately deserves.
We have come SO far. To be met with this unexpected bill is frightening, overwhelming and, honestly, a real gut punch. But we have put our big girl pants on, taken a deep breath, and we are ready to keep fighting for him. Because he is worth every single bit of this fight. ❤️
We need our village.
