WCC's Dr Sheraine van Wyk recently presented the successes of the Paddavlei Conservation Project at the Fynbos Forum with Zelda Arendse (Paddvlei Eco-Group) and Marco Cornelius (Overstrand Municipality). A truly encouraging memory from the day was when one learner said, "This was SO interesting." And the others agreed. Throughout the tour, the Marine Science classes engaged well, asking questions and actively listening to the processes explained by our guides.

Congratulations, Dr Sheraine van Wyk!
Whale Coast Conservation is delighted to congratulate our colleague Dr Sheraine van Wyk on the successful completion of her PhD. Her thesis has been passed with flying colours, marking the culmination of years of dedication, research and perseverance.
Sheraine's achievement is a proud milestone not only for her personally but also for Whale Coast Conservation. Her advanced scientific knowledge strengthens our work in environmental education, conservation and community engagement, and reflects WCC's commitment to promoting science-based conservation.
We are immensely proud to have Dr Sheraine as part of our team and look forward to seeing her research continue to benefit both conservation and the communities we serve.

The committed manual labour to remove AIPs actually works - at the Chameleon Sanctuary, AndrĂȘ, Francois and Miranda Kruger, Tertia Hendricks (volunteers of the Chameleon Project) and Shirley Mgoboza (staff member of WCC) have proved it!! What a stunningly iconic picture from last year and what the same area of the Reserve looks like today free of AIPs.
