About
--------

The Community Policing Forum (CPF) is a body mandated by sections 205 and 206 of the Constitution of South Africa Act No. 108 of 1996 together with sections 18 to 23 of the South African Police Service Act No. 68 of 1995. Community Policing Forums are constituted to improve communication between the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the community, to promote transparency, and

to foster joint problem-solving and co-operation with a view to improving service delivery by the SAPS. The CPF represents the community's interests and monitors the SAPS' service delivery. At the same time, the CPF tries to promote the image of the SAPS to the community in order to foster closer ties between the SAPS and the community. The CPF performs a vital role in the civilian oversight of the SAPS in the precinct. A police service can only be effective when it enjoys the confidence and co-operation of the community which it serves. The role of the CPF is to make the needs of the community known to the police and to help the police meet those needs. The primary objective is to promote a partnership between the community and the local police and to create an environment that will promote effective local policing that is user-friendly. The CPF assists the South African Police Service in accomplishing these aims. Emergency Contact Numbers

💥CPF Leads Clean-Up Operation on PRASA Land in Fish Hoek💥

A joint clean-up operation was recently carried out on PRASA land in Fish Hoek following ongoing concerns from residents about the taxi parking area and surrounding property.

The operation addressed illegal structures that had formed after a breach in the boundary wall allowed access to the site, raising safety concerns within the community.

Multiple role players were involved, including SAPS, Law Enforcement, Traffic Services, PRASA Security, Solid Waste, Social Development, Fish Hoek Neighbourhood Watch, CPF members, and private security partners.

During the operation:
• 2 taxis and 5 vehicles were impounded
• 10 illegal structures were removed
• 15 homeless individuals were assisted by Social Development
• The taxi area was cleaned

As part of ongoing efforts, the CPF will repair the damaged wall and install locks for the taxi area, which will be secured at night. The local BID will manage daily access.

This operation forms part of a broader plan to improve safety, cleanliness, and order in Fish Hoek. Further coordinated actions are already planned.

CAN YOU SEE ME?

Human trafficking and modern-day slavery still exist, and it can happen in any community.

Victims are often hidden in plain sight. They may be forced to work, controlled by others, unable to keep their earnings, or prevented from leaving their living or working situation.

🚨 Warning signs may include:
• Being closely controlled or always accompanied by someone who speaks for them
• Limited freedom of movement or living and working in the same place
• Not having access to their own identification documents
• Appearing fearful, anxious, withdrawn, or unable to speak openly
• Working under conditions that are different from what they were promised
• Indicating that they cannot leave their job or living situation

Human trafficking is a serious crime that exploits people for labour, services, or other forms of abuse.

🚨 If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts. 🚨

You don’t need proof to report a concern, trained professionals can investigate.

📞 Report suspected human trafficking:
National Human Trafficking Hotline: 0800 222 777

Your report could help protect someone who is unable to ask for help.
