Clovelly CAN Closure
The Clovelly CAN is finally winding up, after several years of community fundraising and support for Covid and post-Covid food relief initiatives in various areas of need around the city.
The CAN distributed R 350,168 over its lifetime, thanks to generous donations from community members and vigorous fundraising efforts by some of our most energetic and committed neighbours.
A few Clovelly residents would like to continue their community charity work in different forms under the umbrella of Clovelly Craft Collective.
We would like to thank the communities of Ocean View, Wesbank, Westlake, Masiphumelele, Lavender Hill, Redhill , Vrygrond and Overcome Heights.
Organisations Clovelly CAN collaborated with were Ukama, Amavu Oluntu, Feed our Valley, Ocean View Farm, Masiphumelele Creative Hub, Home from Home Foster Home, Yellow Submarine and Common Change.
Not to forget all the exceptional people who run soup kitchens in those areas, as well as the amazing community of Clovelly for their generosity.
The bank account for Clovelly CAN will be closed in July 2024. Please ensure that any stop orders to the account are cancelled.
With thanks, the Allocation Team
