He ﷺ left Makkah at night and  spent 3 days hidden in a cave.

Then embarked on a long ride across open desert to a city waiting to receive  him with more love than he ﷺ could imagine.

That was Rabi' al-Awwal.

The same month in which he ď·ş was born.

The same month he ď·ş carried bricks to build Masjid an-Nabawi with his own hands.

There’s no doubt that the birth of our Rasool ﷺ is the best thing to have ever happened for our Ummah.

From him ﷺ, we received the gift of Islam and the Qur’aan as Divine guidance.

There is however, a difference in opinion on how he should be revered on this day.

Sh Bilal, our CEO, offers some words of advice to the Imams and Mu’allimahs on the program, to help them navigate the quarrels that may arise today within their communities.

No matter what, always remain respectful.

He placed both hands on the Ka’bah and stayed there for longer than he realised…

Before going for Umrah, Imam Yusufu Tanganyika Gama from Malawi had only ever seen the House of Allah on a screen.

With a generous donor’s contribution, he walked through the doors of the Haram.

Now when he speaks about Tawaf or the Holy Lands in his khutbah, he’s describing ground he walked on.

Sending an Imam for Umrah gives him a chance to renew his connection with Allah, and it gives him something real to bring home to the people who listen to him every week.

You can send an Imam for Umrah. Give at imamdp.org/donate

For years, Imam Cedrik from Malawi had taught his students about Makkah. He never imagined he would actually travel there.

Last year, he was blessed with an Umrah trip and through the generosity of a donor, his dream became a reality, Alhamdulillah!

It was his first time on a plane, his first time seeing the blessed places he had only known through books, and an experience he thought was beyond his reach.

Sending an Imam for Umrah renews his connection with Allah and gives him a lived experience  that he can carry back to his community for years to come.

You too, can send an Imam for Umrah.

A historic first for Lesotho. 🇱🇸

After seven years of IDP working in Lesotho, a new milestone was reached with the country’s first AlKauthar course, The Mark of a Jurist, conducted by Sheikh Bilal Ismail in Maseru.

Four members of the IDP team travelled to Lesotho, where around 100 people attended the programme and came together for a day of learning and growth.

Qur’ans and Islamic learning materials were also distributed to attendees, including Yassarnal Qurans, Sesotho Qurans, Arabic Qurans and other beneficial books.

Alhamdulillah, a meaningful step in strengthening Islamic learning in Lesotho.

Our Imams serve villages where the nearest hospital may be 30km away, and without transport that trip costs them a full day and a taxi fare they can't really afford. It means they visit once a month when they'd rather visit every week to show up for people who need their caring support.

One Imam completed more community engagements than any other Imam on the program, visiting hospitals, orphanages and old age homes, and he received a motorcycle as a prize to acknowledge his efforts. Four more Imams received motorcycles through the Imam Wish Program, funded by just two donors.

Think about your own week without your car keys and you'll see what a bike is worth here. It turns a day-long journey into twenty minutes, which means an Imam can now reach four villages in the time it used to take him to reach one.

This Women's Month, we're celebrating the women on our program.

Mu’allimahs like Mu’allimah Kashiefa from Cape Town, who counsels teenagers and mothers.

Mu’allimah Zainab from Zimbabwe, who works on empowering Muslim women in an underprivileged area.

Then there’s our mu’alliimah from Kenya, who went from domestic work in Saudi to running her own madrassah in her home town.

And so many more…

We see them, we acknowledge them and we appreciate them.

When you strengthen a Mu’allimah, every child and person she touches is impacted.
