Oh So Darling Projects We are passionate about transforming Darling to showcase the beauty of our people

Oh So Darling Projects is a passionate community-driven initiative dedicated to seeing Darling thrive. Established in February 2025, our mission is to unite the people of Darling in a shared vision of beautifying our town, uplifting community spirits, and creating a welcoming environment that attracts visitors and supports the local economy. As proud recipients of funding from the Lottoland Help ’n Dorp TV-series, we are currently focusing on four key projects: revitalizing the municipal swimming pool through a primary school art competition, repainting the Darling Outreach Foundation building, enhancing Main Street, and transforming Park Close into a vibrant community park. Our committee consists of dedicated volunteers—both lifelong residents and newcomers—who work collaboratively, making joint decisions to ensure inclusivity, transparency, and responsibility. Affiliated with The Darling Trust, we believe in service beyond self and the power of collective action. We welcome community involvement through Clean-Up Days and encourage residents to share ideas with us. Through creativity, determination, and collaboration, we aim to make Darling a more beautiful place for everyone.

So, what are you doing this weekend?

Come and enjoy the beautiful views at Park Close from one of our brand-new benches!

A huge thank you to our three wonderful donors, who each sponsored a brand-new bench for our community park. Your generosity is helping us create a beautiful space for everyone to enjoy.

A special thank you to our Town Manager Stephan Kellerman and his amazing team from Swartland Municipality for placing the benches and securing them safely in concrete for us.

Each bench will soon have an individualised plaque, personalised according to the wishes of its donor.

Come and take a seat, enjoy the view, and see how Park Close is coming to life!

From an open piece of land at Park Close to a kids’ fantasy playground!

Thank you to PlayScape for bringing our jungle gym extension project to life!

What was once an empty space is quickly becoming a wonderful place for children to play, explore, imagine and have fun. We can’t wait to see all the little adventurers enjoying this new addition to Park Close!

Another exciting step forward for our community park!

More colour has landed at Park Close!

A huge thank you to Studio 1829 for creating these beautiful mosaic-decorated cement benches! They are going to add so much colour and character to our growing community park.

Thank you also to CK Paving Supplies: Cobble, Paving & Slabs for making the benches for us and for placing them safely and securely at Park Close.

Can you find Tannie Evita's special bench?

We are so excited to see Park Close coming together, one beautiful addition at a time!

We're Looking for Old Crockery!

Do you have any old, broken, unused, or mismatched crockery collecting dust?

We're looking for plates, bowls, cups, saucers, or any pieces with beautiful decorative borders to be used by our mosaic artists in creating a unique Tannie Evita mosaic cement bench for Park Close.

Every piece tells a story and will become part of a beautiful community artwork!

If you would like to donate, please get in touch.
