The Samaritan Inn had the honor of co-hosting the Housing People & Pets in Crisis Workshop alongside RedRover and Greater Good Charities! 🐾💙

A very special thank you to Katie with RedRover and Gabbie with Greater Good Charities for joining us in Plano and leading such an informative and meaningful day. We are so grateful for the knowledge, resources, and experience they shared with everyone in attendance!

The workshop brought together professionals from animal welfare, housing and homelessness services, victim advocacy, law enforcement, veterinary care, and other community organizations to learn, connect, and discuss how we can better support people and their pets during times of crisis.

For The Samaritan Inn, these conversations are especially meaningful. Through Cooper’s Corner, our on-site pet kennel, we see firsthand how important the human-animal bond can be for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Workshops like this help us continue learning while also building relationships with organizations throughout our community that share a commitment to supporting people and their pets.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated in the conversations, shared resources, and helped make the day such a success. We received wonderful feedback and are excited to keep the momentum going by continuing to grow these connections and partnerships!

And once again, thank you to Katie, Gabbie, RedRover, and Greater Good Charities for helping make this incredible day possible. We hope to welcome you back again in the future! 🐶🐱❤️

We are proud to celebrate Dr. Tamara Monroe, Founder and CEO of Hope Restored Missions, as she is honored with the Difference Maker Award at the Dominique Cares SneakerBall for a Cause: A Legacy of Hope.

This recognition reflects what Dr. Monroe has dedicated her life to doing: restoring hope, protecting dignity, and creating pathways forward for individuals and families facing barriers to stability.

Through her leadership, Hope Restored Missions continues to serve our community with a zero-barrier approach, connecting neighbors to housing support, employment resources, food access, critical documentation, transportation, and other essential services.

On Saturday, October 10th, 2026, we will proudly stand beside our Founder and CEO as Dominique Cares recognizes her commitment to making a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Dr. Monroe, your vision became a mission, and that mission continues to change lives. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor.

By 2032, Social Security's primary Trust Fund is projected to run dry if the program continues to pay out more than it receives in income. If congress doesn't act soon, the program will become insolvent, causing an automatic 22% cut in retirement checks for current and newly retired Social Security beneficiaries across the U.S. - Dallas Morning News, 20 Sep 2026

According to the U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve data, the Social Security Trust Fund holds roughly $2.7 trillion of U.S. debt, representing about 7.5% of total gross federal debt. This is the largest single intragovernmental holding, ahead of other federal trust funds such as the Military Retirement Fund and other federal trust funds.
