From a coalition gathering in Phoenix to celebrations across Yuma County, we’re proud of the heart and creativity FLORECER brought to this season’s get-out-the-vote outreach.
We kicked things off at Heritage Headquarters in Phoenix, joining UnidosUS, Mi Familia Vota, LULAC, SEIU-USWW, and Latino Victory for the Vamos a Votar Coalition Reception, then carried that spirit of connection into our rural southern border community.
Our approach used nontraditional voter outreach methods centering culture, celebration, and relationships. From Superheroes at the Polls at the Yuma Children’s Museum, to DĂa de los Mu***os at the Colorado River State Historic Park, and Party at the Polls at Eddie’s Food & Drink in San Luis, AZ, we fostered a welcoming environment for families to connect, ask questions, find voter resources, and make a plan to vote.
We also had the opportunity to share FLORECER’s civic engagement work through interviews at La Onda’s Pidiente Mi Gente Latino Community Radio Show and KAWC’s Yuma Edition, extending these conversations beyond our event booths and into the community.
Meaningful civic engagement begins with trusted messengers honoring the community we serve. Familiar flavors, shared traditions, and personal conversations helped make space for participation and belonging.
Our heartfelt thanks to Poder Latinx for supporting our GOTV outreach, our community partners for collaborating with us, and our FLORECER team for bringing energy and care to every interaction. We’re grateful to do this work alongside our community and proud to help amplify border voices.
Now to watch the midterm results!
