The Yuma County Mounted Posse will be kicking off a Jr Rodeo Series with 3 one day jr rodeos, along with a Friday night barrel racing jackpot, a Saturday night team roping jackpot, and a family fun day Sunday morning. Please see the attached flyers for more information. These events will take place in November, January, and March at the Posse arena.

These rodeos will give young rodeo athletes from Yuma and the surrounding areas a fun and safe place to compete and grow their rodeo skills. Plus have a chance to win great prizes and payouts!

The Yuma County Posse Members are looking forward to these events and growing the annual one day local jr rodeo that has been around for generations into a Jr Rodeo Series that will provide young cowboys and cowgirls and their families a rodeo series that will keep bringing them together in Yuma year after year!

The Yuma County Mounted Posse will be offering 2 $1,000 scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year. Formed in 1954, the Yuma County Mounted Posse is a local organization that works hard to protect and preserve the western way of life. Yuma County Mounted Posse members organize and produce multiple roping and barrel racing events throughout the year, many of which benefit the community or individuals for various causes, such as these scholarships.

These scholarships will be available for high school seniors that are planning to further their education in the coming school year. Preference will be given to students that are active in 4-H, FFA, or other agriculture related extracurricular activities. Candidates should submit their senior packets to the Yuma County Mounted Posse PO Box 402 Yuma, Arizona 85366 no later than June 26, 2026.
