The Yuma County Mounted Posse will be offering 2 $1,000 scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year. Formed in 1954, the Yuma County Mounted Posse is a local organization that works hard to protect and preserve the western way of life. Yuma County Mounted Posse members organize and produce multiple roping and barrel racing events throughout the year, many of which benefit the community or individuals for various causes, such as these scholarships.

These scholarships will be available for high school seniors that are planning to further their education in the coming school year. Preference will be given to students that are active in 4-H, FFA, or other agriculture related extracurricular activities. Candidates should submit their senior packets to the Yuma County Mounted Posse PO Box 402 Yuma, Arizona 85366 no later than June 26, 2026.

Here are the final results for the averages in all events and the overall all-around points. Like we mentioned before with this being the first year of our new 2-day format all of the day sheets and results were done MANUALLY in spreadsheets that amounted to around 75 pages! That being said, we found 2 errors in the average points. One in the 13-17 Big M and another in the 8 & Under Quadrangles. This did change placings and payouts in just these 2 event averages. The contestants effected have been contacted. All around totals have been adjusted and thankfully the actual results DID NOT affect the all-around placings. If you have any questions or concerns about the results, please reach out to Donny DeForest 929-430-0690.

Again we would like to give a HUGE thank you to all of the Sponsors, Volunteers, Posse Members, Parents, and Contestants that helped make this event a success. We can’t wait for this event next year and plan on making it bigger, better and more fun!

Thank you to all who participated in the YCMP Jr Rodeo this past weekend. We had a great turn out from both local and out of town contestants to try the new two-day format and compete for a chance to win part of the awesome prize line and 100% payout! The community really stepped up in a big way to support this event and make this event possible. We also could not have done it without the amazing ladies that ran the office and kept the money and points straight.

Here is the all-around points for each age group. We will also be posting the average results for each event each age group as well, but we are trying to make it into a manageable post. All the results were 75 pages when printed!

Thanks again to all the Sponsors, Volunteers, Parents, and Posse Members that made this event a success! Hope to see you all next year!
