It was a joy to spend the weekend with the LWML Pacific Southwest District, the district that LBW proudly calls home! As an Elite Mission Sponsor, we enjoyed sharing the ministry of LBW with attendees. Thank you to Cynthia Keh for speaking in front of the whole assembly, and to Marilyn Dominguez from our Ontario, California, Ministry Production Center for helping all weekend. We are grateful for the LWML PSW District’s partnership in making God’s Word accessible to all! 💙

One of the most meaningful parts of last week's visit from the Fold Homeschool Fellowship Group was watching students step in and serve.

After touring Lutheran Braille Workers headquarters and learning how Braille and Specialized Large Print materials are produced, the students helped assemble and package books that will be sent free of charge to people with visual impairments.

For many students, this was their first opportunity to handle Braille books, see the production process up close, and participate directly in sharing Christian resources with others. By the end of the visit, they weren’t just learning about the ministry — they were part of it.

Thank you again to the Fold Homeschool group for returning for a second year. We are grateful for your servant hearts and your willingness to help share the light of God’s Word with others.

Blessed Ascension Day!

As we reflect on Acts 1:8-11, which recounts Jesus' Ascension, it's clear that the experience would have been uniquely challenging for blind or sight-impaired disciples, who would have leaned heavily on the testimonies of fellow disciples.

Similarly, though each of us today weren't present to witness the Ascension, we draw strength from the original witnesses' accounts, which bring us deeper in our faith.

The scriptures detailing Jesus' life, death, resurrection, ascension, and return are a testament to the power of faith. Just as alternative formats of scripture in braille, large print, or audio empower the blind and sight-impaired, these testimonies inspire and uplift us all.

Lutheran Braille Workers provides free resources in alternative formats, accessible by emailing [email protected] , going to our website (www.LBWLoveWorks.org) or calling 1-909-795-8977.

May this Ascension Day bring blessings as we “live by faith, not by sight.”

We are thrilled to announce that Lutheran Braille Workers (LBW) has been awarded a $4.45 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to launch “Songs of Faith, Stories of Light.”
