This afternoon, we celebrated an exciting milestone as we recognized the graduates of the 7th cohort of our Financial Readiness Access to Capital Program—previously known as the Business Accounting & Legal Assistance Grant Program!

Over the course of six weeks, these dedicated entrepreneurs participated in six comprehensive sessions designed to strengthen their business knowledge and set them up for long-term success. From accounting, legal fundamentals, marketing, and tax preparation to financial reporting, insurance, and business planning, participants gained practical tools and resources to help their businesses thrive.

As program graduates, each entrepreneur leaves with an updated business plan, a $5,000 grant to support accounting and legal professional services, and the opportunity to present their business to a panel of potential funders—an invaluable experience in preparing for future growth and investment.

Cheers to Cohort 7! 🎉 It has been a privilege to work alongside such an ambitious and inspiring group over the past six Tuesday mornings. We’re excited to watch each of you continue to grow, reach new milestones, and bring your business goals to life!

Yesterday afternoon, our team was proud to present the Rotary Club of Youngstown with a $3,000 check for Operation Warm, raised during our annual golf outing fundraiser this year! Our dear friend, community partner, and fellow small business owner Ellie Platt of Platt Insurance also donated $1,000 to Operation Warm, bringing the combined contributions to $4,000. 📈❄️🤝

We are grateful to Ellie and the Platt Insurance team, everyone who supported our golf outing, and Youngstown Rotary for its dedication to Operation Warm. Yesterday's check presentation celebrates what happens when our community comes together with a common purpose.

Hispanic and Latino Ohioans are making a significant impact on communities across our state through entrepreneurship, employment, consumer spending, and economic growth. According to the Ohio Department of Development:

— $31.3 billion was contributed to Ohio’s economy by Hispanic/Latino Ohioans in 2023
— From 2018–2023, Latino GDP in Ohio grew at an average annual rate of 7.6%
— Hispanic/Latino Ohioans accounted for 11.9% of Ohio’s total economic growth between 2018 and 2023

These numbers support our belief that when entrepreneurs and communities have access to the resources, capital, and support they need to succeed, the entire economy benefits.
