Kilgore Memorial Library is proud to host a Nebraska Arts Council 's “50th Anniversary of the I-80 Sculpture Project” exhibit.

The original sculptures were installed in 1976 as part of the United States Bicentennial, the I-80 Sculpture Project placed monumental artworks at interstate rest areas across Nebraska. This special exhibit highlights York’s sculpture, "𝑪𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔" by Bradford Graves, and features: a 3D-printed model of the sculpture, video interviews with people connected to the project, historic photographs and stories from the sculpture’s creation and dedication, and information about the statewide celebration of Nebraska’s iconic I-80 sculptures

Kilgore Memorial Library is proud to host a Nebraska Arts Council's “50th Anniversary of the I-80 Sculpture Project” exhibit, celebrating one of Nebraska’s most unique public art initiatives.

The original sculptures were installed in 1976 as part of the United States Bicentennial, the I-80 Sculpture Project placed monumental artworks at interstate rest areas across Nebraska. This special exhibit highlights York’s sculpture, "𝑪𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔" by Bradford Graves, and features: a 3D-printed model of the sculpture, video interviews with people connected to the project, historic photographs and stories from the sculpture’s creation and dedication, and information about the statewide celebration of Nebraska’s iconic I-80 sculptures

The exhibit opens June 18 at Kilgore Memorial Library and is part of a statewide commemoration taking place in communities across Nebraska.
