Last Wednesday, we took Project Inspire Yonkers to Memorial Field in Mount Vernon for a day of soccer and community building!

Our team was proud to join the Westchester Soccer Club community to share information about our mentorship and workforce development programs with families, youth, and community members from across the county. S/o to the new Rochelle chamber for hosting such a great event.

What made the day even more special? Our mentees were there with us—enjoying the game and spreading the word representing the best part of our organization - themselves.

Every conversation, every connection, and every opportunity to show up in the community helps us build something bigger than a program—it’s a movement.

Growth happens outside of our comfort zone 💙

Every five weeks, our mentees work on specific communication skills that will serve them for a lifetime—public speaking, media training, self-confidence, and leadership.

In a world where screens often replace conversations, we’re intentionally creating spaces where young people learn how to express themselves, engage with others, and find their voice. Whether they’re speaking in front of a group, participating in media exercises, or sharing their ideas, they’re building confidence one step at a time.

We’re grateful to our partners at Yonkers Arts for helping us equip the next generation with the tools, confidence, and communication skills they’ll need to succeed in school, careers, relationships, and life.

We Work hard & Play hard! 💙

Balance fuels our growth daily.
Our mentees show up every week ready to learn, grow, challenge themselves, and put in the work. But just as important as the lessons, workshops, and goal-setting are the moments where they get to relax, connect, and simply enjoy being young.

Whether it’s a strategic game of chess, a little friendly competition on the PS5, or just sharing laughs with one another, these moments help build something bigger than a program—they build brotherhood.

We’re creating a space where young men can develop leadership skills, build meaningful relationships, and learn that success is about balance. Work hard when it’s time to work. Enjoy the moment when it’s time to play.
Because growth happens both on and off the board.

Stepping into the gear and getting a firsthand look at what it takes to serve and protect.

During Career Day, one of our young mentors had the opportunity to try on firefighter equipment and explore a career dedicated to courage, teamwork, and community.

Experiences like these help open doors, spark curiosity, and remind our youth that their future is full of possibilities.

Sometimes the most important lessons happen around a table.

Today wasn’t about workshops, goals, or programming—it was about brotherhood. It was about breaking bread together, sharing conversations, building trust, and strengthening the relationships that make this journey meaningful.

Too often, young men are taught to compete with one another. We’re teaching them how to support one another. How to laugh together. How to show up for each other. How to build healthy relationships rooted in respect, accountability, and community.

Because mentorship isn’t just about preparing our youth for the future—it’s about helping them create the kind of connections that will carry them through it.

Huge thanks to Giovanni’s Pizza here in Yonkers, NY. It’s always a warm welcome and excellent food each time we come.

Our Guest Speaker series always provides our mentees for the motivation they need! Every story, every lesson, every unique experience reminds our youth that the goal is bigger than temporary distractions.

Fights, fast money, negative influences, and bad decisions can cost you opportunities that may never come again. The real flex is walking across that graduation stage, creating a future for yourself, and becoming the person you were destined to be.

Stay focused. Stay disciplined. Stay committed. Every decision you make today is writing the story of your tomorrow. 🎓✨

Happy June! Come out and celebrate culture, freedom and life with us on Juneteenth!

One of Project Inspire Yonkers, Inc. pillars is building healthy relationships so it’s only right we host a Juneteenth party and invite EVERYBODY to come out, break bread, bust a move, listen to some music with us. To just chill! We deserve it! And what better way then at one of the only black owned restaurants in the city of Yonkers on a holiday celebrating the freedom of black people and the culture that comes with it. Good food. Good drinks. Good music. Good vibes!
