We have been celebrating spring with a lot (A LOT) of trees. First we planted a nanoforest at Yonkers Cross Hill Academy, then there were three new trees at the Historic Philipse Manor Hall with Alpha Kappa Alpha, and we closed out last week with a Microforest at Yonkers Montessori School 31! Microforests are a great way to reap the benefits of trees in a built environment. They help control flooding and they act as natural coolants for surrounding areas.
