It's time to gear up for the 2026 Awards Banquet on Saturday November 14 at the Oregon Expo Center (formerly Oregon State Fairgrounds). Doors open at 4 pm, dinner will start at 4:30 pm and awards will start around 5 pm.

If you are wanting to eat a delicious meal from McKillip's Catering Inc. you can purchase dinner tickets for $25 per person. If you'd like to attend for free without eating, we still ask that you please RSVP so we can ensure we have the amount of tables and chairs needed to accommodate everyone. Ticket purchases and RSVP's can be done on Saddlebook at https://saddlebook.com/events/17006 through October 30. Please get this done BEFORE the cutoff, so we can submit our numbers to the vendors!

We have updated the website to show which contestants are receiving awards in the Individual Events https://www.nwyra.net/2026-results it also shows our Top 3 All Around, Philomath Finals Buckle Winners and Philomath Finals All Around Winners. Remember - if you see your name and you cannot be present to accept your award you must have someone lined up to go on stage on your behalf. Same goes for your contestant jackets, if you cannot attend you must ask someone to retrieve it for you.

We are excited to host this event this year, it's sure to be a great time as always! We will not only have awards, but each contestant will get a raffle ticket to retrieve something from the raffle table, the ever-popular Dessert Dash will be put on by the Northwest Youth Rodeo Court and we will have our live auction that benefits the Jake Thompson Memorial Scholarship.

It's been a hot minute since we've had a Team Roping Clinic, but that's about to change!

Please join us 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝗰𝘁 𝟭𝟭𝘁𝗵 for a clinic with 𝙈𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙩𝙩! The clinic is limited to 10 students, so get your name on the list quickly by 𝗧𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝟱𝟬𝟯-𝟲𝟳𝟵-𝟳𝟰𝟲𝟳 to secure your spot!

NWYRA is in search of a Goat Tying Director for the 2027-2028 Term. Ideally this would be taken on by someone who is familiar with the event, and has an understanding of how it works and the rules. Per the bylaws, "Directors must be the parent or legal guardian of a current Contestant in good standing at the time of the director's election”

Current Director, Christina Mauk, is willing to continue serving in this position until we find a replacement.

Just to clarify - Providing goats for the event is NOT part of the job. Our current Director happened to also be our Goat Contractor. Finding contractors for goats, and other events, is something that NWYRA does each year and is not a requirement of the event director.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to Jake Thompson, who left us all too soon. Each year we are able to award scholarships in his honor, to keep his memory alive. The Thompson Family & JET Nation have been such a great support for this, including continued donations - helping young cowboys and cowgirls chase their dreams.

Sadly, someone decided to take some items that did not belong to them out of one of our contestant's vehicles over the weekend in Canyonville. If you took a Hooey duffle bag with NWYRA logo on it (similar to the one pictured) please contact me to return it, no questions asked. It contains some very sentimental jewelry items that we would like to recover for the owner. You can also drop it by the rodeo office, anonymously, during the Molalla HS rodeo 9/11-9/13 and I'll make sure it finds its rightful owner. It's not too late to do the right thing.
