Family Rebuild

09/07/2026

A full workweek does not always guarantee a safe roof, a steady home, or room to breathe.

This Labor Day, we honor the working families across New Jersey who show up every day: often while rebuilding after displacement, managing unexpected expenses, and carrying the quiet weight of working-class limbo. Their labor, perseverance, and dignity matter. 🛠️

At Family ReBuild, we believe rebuilding should never be faced alone. We help families move forward with practical resources, warm meals, emergency support, financial assistance, and compassionate care.

Together, our village has helped more than 750 families rebuild with confidence and dignity. That progress is powered by neighbors who believe bold action and community care belong side by side.

We are growing our all-volunteer team and welcoming young adults and individuals who want to serve, support families, and help strengthen our New Jersey community. Join us as a volunteer or community service participant: www.familyrebuild.org

This Labor Day, let’s honor the work: and stand with the people doing it. 💙

A family may receive a warm meal and emergency support today: but rebuilding takes more than getting through the next 24 hours. It takes safer routines, space for emotional healing, and the confidence to believe tomorrow can be steadier. 💙

That is why we are Partying for a Purpose at Family ReBuild of New Jersey’s 2nd Annual Day Party on July 11. Together, we can help sustain a community bridge from urgent relief to lasting stability, dignity, and hope.

Join us for an uplifting day rooted in connection, restoration, and bold action for New Jersey families. Your ticket is more than attendance: it is a meaningful way to stand with families as they rebuild beyond the immediate crisis.

🎉 From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to our incredible volunteers!

Our 'Partying for a Purpose' Day Party was a beautiful celebration : but the real magic happened because of YOU, our Village. Every smile shared, every plate served, every conversation had… it all came together because of the hands and hearts that showed up.

At Family ReBuild of New Jersey, we believe it takes a village to help a family rise. Our volunteers are the backbone of that village. They don't just give their time : they give hope, dignity, and a fresh start to families who've been displaced by life's toughest storms.

🌱 Your support helped us continue our mission to provide meals, emergency resources, financial assistance, and emotional counseling to families in need.

To everyone who volunteered, attended, donated, or simply cheered us on : you are part of something bigger. You are part of the rebuild.

💛 The Village is still going strong. Want to get involved? Visit www.familyrebuild.org to learn how you can be part of the next chapter.

They say a village isn't built in a day, but it’s sustained by the hands that show up every single morning.

We are thrilled to celebrate a major win for our community: the return of the $1,000 Universal Deduction for 2026. This isn’t just a tax policy: it’s a powerful recognition of the "Everyday Giver." It’s for the neighbor who sends a small monthly contribution and the friend who makes sure no family in New Jersey has to face the biting cold alone.

At Family ReBuild, we’ve seen how these steady, smaller gifts create a bridge to stability for over 750 families. Whether it’s providing emergency resources, hot meals, or emotional counseling, your consistency allows us to act with bold speed when a crisis hits.

This tax season, your heart for the village is rewarded. Your regular support ensures that every family we serve can rebuild their lives with the confidence and dignity they deserve.

Let’s keep this momentum going. Join the movement of Monthly ReBuilders today and see your local impact grow.

In New Jersey, the math for "getting by" has changed. Recent data shows a family of four now needs nearly $116,000 just to cover basics like housing and food.

This means even families who "make good money" have almost no margin for error. When a flood or fire hits, that safety net can vanish in an instant. Suddenly, our neighbors are facing the terrifying gap between stability and displacement.

At Family ReBuild, we know money alone doesn’t rebuild a life: a village does. We bridge the gap when the math doesn't add up, providing emergency resources and support to restore dignity. We have already walked alongside over 750 families, proving no one should face the storm alone.

We are your neighbors committed to bold action. Join us as we continue this work at our 2nd Annual Day Party or support the mission today. Let’s ensure no family is left out in the cold.

🚗 The Car Ride to Somewhere New

She packs one bag, buckles the kids in, and looks in the rearview. Then: she drives. She doesn’t know exactly what’s ahead, but she knows she has to move.

There’s a holy in-between in that ride. It’s the space between what was and what will be. It’s where quiet courage lives: the kind that keeps one hand on the wheel and the other reaching back to hold a child’s hand.

The women of color we serve take that ride every day, leaving behind displacement for a future they are brave enough to build. At Family ReBuild, we meet them on the other side with open arms and a foundation for the first step home.

🚙 To every woman who has taken that ride alone: you are never alone on the next one.

Join our village and support these families at our 2nd Annual Day Party on July 11th at Pierre's of South Brunswick. Tickets & donations via Zeffy: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/annual-gala-2697

Our hearts are full today.

Yesterday’s 2nd Annual Day Party at Pierre's of South Brunswick was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to the power of our village. A deeply moving highlight was the original poem shared by Ananeika Gordon. This powerful, copyrighted work shared her personal journey of resilience and faith, reminding us all why this mission is so personal.

We extend a massive thank you to our incredible guests, dedicated sponsors, and hard-working board members who made "Partying for a Purpose" such a resounding success. Special gratitude to our honorary guests, Pastor Jide Lawore and Tula Richards-Gift, for your inspiring presence. Your support allows us to continue our work, having already served over 750 families: helping neighbors rebuild their lives with dignity and stability.

If you missed it or want to read Ananeika’s full poem, you can view our digital event program here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1n9-YFu8-VLLfHNpKwt4b8ZYUxTa-K0jf/view?usp=drivesdk

Together, we are building a bridge to a stronger, more resilient New Jersey. Thank you for being a part of this journey.

🗳️ The Village Vote: When She Shows Up, Families Win

She's at the PTA meeting after a double shift. She's on the community board, fighting for fair housing. She's at the polls with her grandmother's legacy in her pocket and her daughter's future on her mind.

Women of color don't just rebuild homes : they reshape the systems that broke them in the first place.

At Family ReBuild, we've watched mothers become advocates. Survivors become policy voices. Women who once needed a Village become the ones building it for others. This is the pipeline from recovery to civic leadership.

Because the most powerful thing a woman can do after displacement is not just stand up : it's stand up and say: "Now I'm making sure no other family goes through this alone."

🇺🇸 To every woman of color showing up, speaking out, and casting a vote for her community's future : you are the change agent our families need.
