Today, only about 1 in 3 people say they feel strongly connected to others, social isolation is a growing challenge. SCI is taking action by developing 1,000 Social Capital Cultivators™ —leaders who take action to create more connected communities.

🎉We celebrated our high school LET interns at LET Family Night at the Woburn Public Library . The potluck-style celebration brought together 32 guests to honor the dedication of our five SCI LET interns. 🎓A highlight of the night was the recognition of our graduating seniors, Gimari Francois and Rayane K. Hadjiat.

We were also honored to welcome community leaders, including Woburn Mayor Michael Concannon, Woburn Chief of Staff Chris Kisiel, and Woburn Public Library Director Hermayne Gordon.

✨Human Creativity in the Age of AI✨ This Wednesday, May 13, at the Woburn Public Library - Join SCI’s Leaders for Everyone’s Tomorrow (LET) and Joint Family from 6-8pm for an interactive, family-friendly workshop on artificial intelligence (AI), creativity, and wellbeing!

Uses hands-on, creative activities to explore how AI is reshaping the way we connect and engage with the world!

Note: The workshop is open to people ages 13 and up. Due to generative AI user terms & conditions, minors unaccompanied by a parent or guardian must receive written permission to attend. No prior experience with AI is necessary.

✨What a night at our 2026 SCI Idealist Celebration! ✨We’ll have more to share, but for today, some photos, and words from SCI President David Crowley capture the spirit of the night:

“From Elsa’s ‘recipe for being an Idealist’ to Scott’s compelling story of how his mother centered relationships in building her business over 40 years, and ending with Dede’s emphasis on the importance of relationships for young people, we clearly selected honorees that are very well aligned with SCI’s mission! They drew a very full room of supporters who share the value of meaningful connections”

🎉We are thrilled to share that we exceeded our $30,000 goal last night! With some offsite giving, and our generous matches from the Social Equity Access Fund and the Ilene Beal Charitable Foundation we raised $37,000 last night! That means we are just $2,200 from hitting our overall event goal of $85,000!

🌟 We’re still beaming from the 2026 SCI Pitch Event! In April almost 100 youth from 10 local communities pitched social impact projects at Roxbury Community College. SCI awarded $20,000 in grant funding to help bring their visions to life. With ideas from youth financial literacy workshops to climate poetry slams, we are so inspired by these young leaders. Boston’s future is bright!
