Domestic violence doesn't always leave visible bruises. It can include emotional abuse, intimidation, financial control, sexual violence, isolation, and threats. Abuse is about power and control, and it can happen to anyone, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, or background.
🏳️🌈 Domestic violence also occurs in LGBTQ+ relationships. LGBTQ+ survivors may face additional barriers to seeking help, including fear of discrimination, rejection, or threats of being "outed" to family, friends, or employers. Abuse in LGBTQ+ relationships is just as serious and deserving of recognition, support, and protection.
If you're experiencing abuse, please remember: You are not alone. You deserve safety, dignity, and respect. Help is available.
