🏠 At home, hands on science! 🧪

Education teachers, homeschool families, and other groups are now able to bring lake literacy to wherever is needed! Simply reserve a tote, pick it up at the Lilly Center, and bring environmental science to life for free! The Lilly Center offers four different STEM totes: Happy Lake, Sad Lake, Great Glaciers, Catfish Craziness, and Secchi Disk Science!

Learn how to read a topographic map by having fun and getting your hands dirty! These tables help elementary school students discuss important concepts, including pollution's influence on communities, erosion, the watershed, topography, and lake formation. Students get to experience hands-on activities by building a landscape and seeing a real-time topographic map.

🍂 Protect Our Lakes This Fall 🌊

As leaves drop, proper yard care can protect our water quality. While small amounts of leaves falling naturally into the lake may not have a significant impact, large amounts pollute our lake. Deciduous leaves contain phosphorus and the Clean Lake Alliance states that simply 1 pound of phosphorus can fuel up to 500 pounds of algae in the lake!

Simple changes in your yards keep your lake clean, healthy, safe, and beautiful!
