CAMRON MURRELL MEMORIAL HOG HUNT RULES
1. One team member must be present to sign in for the rules and announcements meeting. Team captain is not interchangeable at any point after sign up. If team captain refuses polygraph the team is disqualified.
2. A team consist of 5 team members and 2 helpers.
3. No hunting before 3:00pm on Friday, February 6th.
4. Hogs are defined as feral, free ranging, wild hogs that have NOT been previously held, trapped, raised, and released for the purpose of this hunt.
5. No hogs can be caught behind a high game fence, or game proof fence whether the gate is opened or closed. Fencing cannot slow down or impede the hogs travel.
6. No roped hogs, no hogs that have been run over, slowed, or turned by a vehicle, ATV, 4-wheeler, horse etc.
7. No hogs can be caught prior to the competition dates and times.
8. No hogs can be caught that have been intentionally injured or hobbled and then released to be recaptured for the competition.
9. No questionable domestic bred hogs. All hogs must look and act wild.
10. One barr hog per team will be allowed. The barr hog will NOT be included in the Biggest Boar division.
11. If a team member cannot hunt for some reason, the other team members must continue to hunt without replacing that hunter. You are not allowed to bring in another hunter or use a helper to take the place of the team member no longer hunting.
12. Please be sure to read all rules to better prepare yourself for the polygraph.
HUNTING RULES:
1. All hogs must be bayed first, dog caught, and then handled and tied.
2. No device such as night vision, drones, putting out feed to lure them in, etc. may be used to aide in locating the hogs, except dogs.
3. No turning out on the same place in different areas at the same time.
4. No splitting up of team members into shifts where one group will hunt at night and the other hunting during the day.
5. All dog owners will hunt together at all times. If there are separate bays happening at the same time, you split at
that time, but then all team members must return together as soon as possible.
6. NO intentional split bays are allowed so you can hunt separately.
7. Only team members and helpers listed on the entry form will be allowed to participate in the handling of dogs, hogs, etc. Spectators may be present but cannot participate in the hunt.
8. Helpers CANNOT bring their own dogs.
9. There is NO restriction on rules of helpers in ASSISTING team members.
WEIGH IN RULES:
1. No early weigh-ins. You can come in as early as 11am but no later than 1pm. No weigh-ins will be accepted after 1pm. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
2. Team Captain must be present at weigh-in and be the one to sign the team up BEFORE 1pm on February 8th. (our only exception for team captain not being there is medical or family emergency & they must notify us prior to the weigh in)
3. All hogs must be brought in to weigh-in alive and be able to walk on and off the scales for weight to count.
4. Team members/helpers will be responsible for unloading and getting their hogs to the pen.
5. All hogs brought in that are approved by the organizers will be weighed and considered for the heaviest 5 hogs, as well as the biggest boar or sow. (example: if a team brings in 8 hogs, all 8 hogs will be weighed and the top 5 weighing hogs will make up that teams 5 hog limit)
6. TIME IS UP AT 1pm ON FEBRUARY 8TH AND NO OTHER TEAMS WILL BE ALLOWED TO WEIGH-IN... NO EXCEPTIONS
7. In the event of a tie, the team with the heaviest one hog, out of your 5 qualifying heaviest hogs, breaks the tie.
8. ALL RULES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED AND IF PROVEN THAT A TEAM IS CHEATING YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE TOURNAMENT.
