Beautiful things doing beautiful things for dogs. ❤️🐾

Look at a few of the treasures generously donated for our Sweetpups auction! Glowing amber glass, a lovely Last Supper platter, and gorgeous floral porcelain—each donation helps us turn someone’s generosity into care for our rescue and sanctuary dogs.

Sweetpups friends, please follow No More Fleas Market by Sweetpups, our auction page! That’s where you can browse the treasures, place your bids, and bring home something special while helping provide food, veterinary care, and a safe place for the dogs we love.

Thank you to everyone who donates, shops, and shares. You make this life-saving auction possible.

I have an idea of what I’m thinking but I don’t want to taint your answers 🙂

Waking up with Walter… this can’t be good.
So I’m wondering if this is still MRSA that is causing the incision to reopen or is the skin, due to how long cancer had been in an open wound state, left the skin so damaged it can’t heal… or what.

I didn’t know they were from Louisiana!

“Every Louisiana kid knew a dog with eyes like broken glass, and every one of us was told the same thing: don't stare at him too long. 🐕

That dog was probably a Catahoula leopard dog, and the Louisiana legislature made it the official state dog in 1979. It takes its name from Catahoula Parish in the middle of the state, where families used these dogs for work long before anyone thought of them as pets. The coat comes mottled in gray, black, tan and brown, like the spotted shadow of a cat in the woods, and plenty of them have one eye pale blue and one eye amber, or two eyes the color of a winter sky.

Nobody can say for certain where the breed came from. The story most people tell is that the dogs the Spanish and French brought in met the hardy local dogs of the woods and swamps, and the result was a cur that could think. What we do know is what they did. Out on the cutover pine land and in the river bottoms, a farmer with a few hogs and a few cattle ranging free needed a dog who could find them, circle them, hold them still and wait. A Catahoula did that without being asked twice.

That is why so many Louisiana families can tell you about one. The dog that rode in the truck bed and never fell out. The dog that took on a hog and came home with a scar to prove it. The dog that would not leave the front porch until the one person it trusted came home from work. 🛻

They were never fancy. They were working animals who happened to be loved like family, and that is about the most Louisiana thing there is.”

Erie follows/leads/herds all day long.
No leash needed most of the time!

Walter’s one month post hospital anniversary! Try to skip the part where Ludlow shows the world he forgot to use the Charmin and REFUSES a sanitary assistance. After all, a Pyrenees is a manly dog and don’t need no stinkin help!
