🦅 Wingo PTO Meeting Summary – November 11, 2025
The Wingo PTO met on November 11, 2025. The meeting was called to order by Deborah Crowder and seconded by Natalie Winn. The financial report was reviewed, with the previous and current balances noted on the financial sheet. A motion to approve the financial report was made by Natalie Winn and seconded by Deborah Crowder, and the motion was approved.
During unfinished business, members finalized plans for the upcoming Winter Wonderland Event, which will take place December 5–7. The menu will include chili, hot dogs, fixings, dessert, tea, lemonade, and chips. Pricing for the event was approved as follows: drinks for $1, hot dogs for $2, chili for $5, and desserts for $2. Complete meals will be $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Kids meals include drink, hot dog, dessert. The motion to approve pricing was made by Deborah Crowder and seconded by Ashley Perkins, and the motion passed. Dessert donations were requested, with items to be pre-packaged in Ziploc bags. It was also decided that there will be no vendors this year to allow more space for crafts and a special storytime with the Grinch and for hot chocolate to be served from the concession area, while PTO serves chili supper in the cafeteria from 5-6. We will presale meals through Zeffy campaign to help the line go smoother.
The need for a new refrigerator for the concession and staff area was discussed next. The estimated cost is around $2,000, and the group agreed to begin collecting donations before using PTO funds. A motion to approve seeking donations or holding a fundraiser if needed was made and approved.
Under new business, members discussed plans for the Teacher Christmas Lunch, with the decision to again provide a catered meal from A&B BBQ, as it was very well received last year. The motion to approve was made by Tara Garrigus and seconded by Paige Adair, and it was approved. Approximate cost is $400.
In discussion of upcoming fundraisers, members considered hosting a “Parents’ Night Out” or “Drop and Shop” event but instead decided to launch a Zeffy campaign to raise funds for the new refrigerator. Additional fun school-wide fundraisers were also approved, including “Tattoo the Teachers” and “Tape Mrs. Winn to the Wall.” The motion to approve these fundraisers was made by Deborah Crowder and seconded by Angela Braddock, and the motion was approved.
The PTO currently has $3,800 in the field trip fund, with a goal of reaching $5250 for field trips.
Concessions from the November 1 event brought in $401.90, and members noted that nachos sold very well. Upcoming concession dates are November 15, December 6, and January 17.
The meeting was adjourned following a motion by Angela Braddock and a second by Natalie Winn. The next PTO meeting will be held on December 9 at 2:45 p.m. in the library.
**Other things discussed, find donations for chili, asking Texas Roadhouse, Wendy’s, reaching out to the community for dessert donations and needing to get some volunteers to serve and possibly donate hot chocolate. Another need is for volunteers in general to decorate the school’s interior, and to help with the event in general. Deborah will share a sign up sheet closer to time.**
