Our first bird hike of 2026 brought visitors to Serenity Ridge to experience one of the earliest signs of spring: the American Woodcock’s evening display. After a short hike through the preserve and listening to the woods come alive at dusk, we ended the evening looking skyward at a rare planetary alignment and Jupiter’s moons. A reminder that discovery happens everywhere in nature, from the forest floor to the night sky! 🐦🔭🌕

Hello, winter. 🤍
A blanket of snow settles gently over Serenity Ridge, reminding us that every season has its own kind of beauty. Even in winter’s stillness, the land continues to offer peace, reflection, and a deep connection to nature. For families who value simplicity, intention, and returning to the earth as it was meant to be, this place remains constant, no matter the season.

At Serenity Ridge, nature is doing what it does best — creating cleaner air, healthier habitats, and a peaceful space for all of us. Green spaces boost biodiversity, filter pollutants, support wildlife, and improve both physical and mental health.

Maryland’s natural beauty shines here: rolling hills, streams, wetlands, and hardwood forests of the Piedmont Plateau. 🌳 We’re restoring the land by removing invasives, planting natives, and welcoming wildlife back home — all while helping visitors learn about Maryland’s incredible ecosystems. Come visit us! www.serenityridgenaturepreserve.org
