Oregon Hunter Jumper Association The Oregon Hunter Jumper Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of hunters, jumpers, and hunt seat equitation.

The OHJA is dedicated to promoting and improving the quality of Oregon's hunters, jumpers, and hunt seat equitation, ensuring fair competition and sportsmanship, bolstering public support of the hunter/jumper industry, expanding and enhancing the image of equestrian competition, and providing academic scholarships and financial assistance to qualified members of our organization.

This summer, OHJA awarded a total of $2,000 in grant money to help four Local System riders attend Medal Finals.

The Local System Medal Finals Grant provides junior and amateur members in the Local System with financial assistance to attend the show hosting the finals.

Thanks to the Open System riders who donated the value of their year-end prizes back to OHJA and additional gifts from Swan Training and Kathryn A Hall PC, we were able to support every rider who applied for the grant this year! We are so appreciative of everyone who supported this program in 2026, and we hope that it can continue to grow in 2027 and beyond.

Congratulations to the winner of the Sazerac Legacy Grant! Emelia Rhodes will be attending her first USHJA Affiliate Championships this fall with the help of the grant.

The Sazerac Legacy Grant is one of 3 competition grants offered for OHJA members. Presented in honor of BENDing Line Farm’s beloved horse Sazerac, a.k.a. Zach, the grant is awarded annually to a junior rider who exhibits horsemanship, sportsmanship, tenacity, and brilliance in the efforts to reach their goals.

The 2026 Sazerac Legacy Grant recipient will be announced tomorrow, Aug. 29!

The grant is awarded to a junior rider in honor of BENDing Line Farm’s beloved horse Sazerac, a.k.a. Zach, and provides the winner with $2,000 to be used towards competing at any Fall final.

Thank you to everyone who nominated a rider for this award. This year’s nominees have a wide range of goals and experience levels, but they all share the core traits of tenacity, sportsmanship, and a deep connection to the horse that came through loud and clear in the nominations.

Representatives from BENDing Line Farm and the OHJA board will present the grant recipient in the Grand Prix Ring at Hunter Creek before the 1.30m Team NW Jumper Classic on Saturday afternoon. Come cheer on this year’s winner then stick around to watch the class!
