‘The biggest blessing’: Wilsonville nonprofit helps heroes build a family

Roaring Adventures gives quarterly grants to first responders and active military members who have a medical infertility diagnosis. They can use the funds for things like IVF, surrogacy and adoption.

Mollie Huyck founded Roaring Adventures after she and her husband Aaron Huyck overcame their own struggles to expand their family. Through many rounds of IVF and miscarriages, they eventually had their daughter Rory through embryo donation and gestational surrogacy.

Their dreams came true, following a challenging and costly journey. Financial and emotional support helped them along the way. That’s why they wanted to help others with this nonprofit.

People from around the country can apply for a grant. Mollie says Roaring Adventures has given $600,000 ever since it started in June of 2021, and has welcomed 28 babies.

There is so much courage in the waiting - in holding onto hope when the path forward isn’t yet clear.

Through the unknowns, the next steps, and all that comes with building a family, we’re honored to be part of a community that recognizes these journeys and the people navigating them.

Happy Summer! The Roaring Adventures Summer 2026 Family Building Grant applications are open July 1–September 1.

We’re also excited to be preparing for our 5th Annual Event, Farm-to-Table Dinner & Auction on September 12 at Middleground Farms!
