Ready to clear out the bulky stuff?

Bulky Waste Day is happening today, Saturday, October 17.

Wilsonville residents can bring many large and unusual items that can't be picked up curbside. There is no disposal charge, and donations to Wilsonville Community Sharing are encouraged.

Wilsonville Rotary volunteers are also out helping today, providing scheduled pickups for residents who are physically unable to transport their own items.

Before you head out, check the City's website for accepted items, restrictions and complete event details:

Thank you to the City of Wilsonville, Republic Services, Wilsonville Community Sharing and all the volunteers helping make this community effort possible!

That old couch's day has finally come.

Bulky Waste Day is tomorrow, Saturday, October 17.

This annual community event is a partnership between the City of Wilsonville and Republic Services, with donations benefiting Wilsonville Community Sharing. Wilsonville Rotary is also proud to be part of the effort, providing scheduled pickups for residents who are physically unable to transport their own bulky items.

Wilsonville residents can dispose of many hard-to-dispose-of items, including couches, mattresses, refrigerators, televisions, computers, appliances, scrap metal, tables and chairs. Proof of Wilsonville residency is required.

There is no disposal charge. Instead, please consider a donation to Wilsonville Community Sharing, which provides critical assistance to local families.

Before loading up, check what's accepted and what's not:

The Wilsonville Rotary Foundation is donating this book to the Wilsonville Public Library. Thanks to John for speaking with us today, and thanks as well to Rotarian Hilly Alexander for coordinating our Children’s Book of the Week program.

Today’s Rotary guest speaker was Clackamas County District Attorney John Wentworth, who told us about The Gold Standard Project, a multidisciplinary effort to create the nation’s premier response to serving victims of sexual and domestic violence. Next week’s speaker, on October 22, will be Clark Mather of Northwest RiverPartners, who will talk about how hydroelectric power fits into the larger power picture in the Pacific Northwest. You can check out future presenters and club happenings at https://www.wilsonvillerotary.com/calendar/, or look through our Facebook events page at https://www.facebook.com/WilsonvilleRotary/events, to see what else is coming up.

Join us today for our weekly meeting featuring Clackamas County District Attorney John Wentworth.

John will introduce the Gold Standard Project, an effort to improve how law enforcement and community partners respond to victims of sexual and domestic violence. The project brings agencies together around trauma-informed practices, specialized training, and a certification program designed to establish a consistent standard for serving victims.

Learn how this collaborative approach is working to strengthen the response to some of the most difficult cases in our communities.

Guests are always welcome.

Need help getting your bulky items to Bulky Waste Day?

Wilsonville Rotary volunteers will once again provide scheduled pickups for residents who are physically unable to transport their own items.

These photos from a previous Bulky Waste Day show our volunteers in action, helping neighbors get items that are difficult to move to the disposal site.

Bulky Waste Day is Saturday, October 17. Pickup space is limited so don't wait to request help.

Request a Rotary pickup and find complete event information on the City's website:
https://www.wilsonvilleparksandrec.com/m/calendar/event/detail/1267

Please share this with a neighbor who may need a little help.
