So how will sign ups work??

This year we're doing a lottery process for mushers to sign up for the race. At noon (AK time) on October 15th the lottery will open for 24hours. Any sign ups entered by noon the next day (October 16th) will be entered in the lottery. At 6pm on Oct 16th we will do a livestream here on Facebook to draw our 20 mushers! Any additional entries will be drawn for their order on the waitlist. This process takes some of the chaos off our mushers trying to sign up and is more inclusive for those without access to a computer.

But...should I even bother with the waitlist? YES!! Last year we went through the entire waitlist and every sign up was offered a spot in the race. If you want to run the Su Dog...you absolutely should sign up!!

The 2027 Su Dog 300 is ON baby!! The race will start Saturday Feb 20th, 2027 and follow a similar route. Sign ups will look a little different this year....last year sign ups sold out in under 4 minutes which is WILD! This year will not be forcing our poor mushers to jam away at their keyboards to try to get in. More info on sign ups will be posted tomorrow, so stay tuned!

We are looking for volunteers for the 2027 race so if you think sled dogs are cool, you should join us! To create a better experience for allllll our Su Doggers we need to staff nearly 100 volunteers for the race. Sheep Creek Lodge is not only a prominent checkpoint in the race, but they are a hub of this community. Anyone who knows, KNOWS that the Sheep Creek family is the first to offer support to the community, offer refuge for those in need, provide connections and space for various local organizations, and generally are just incredible people. If you are able, please check out their Crowd Funder page - 100% of your donation goes straight to them as they navigate these trying times!

Bring the community, and lovers off the Sheep Creek Lodge together, to bring in funds to replace the septic system.

Su Dog wanted to get involved with some community service this summer and we're so grateful to Linda and the Willow Area Community Organization for putting together this project! Some of our Su Dog board members joined a wonderful group of volunteers to spruce up the Newman's dog park! Thank you to everyone who came together to make this project happen 🐕🐾🩷

A thank you shout out to: Chuck Caspar for his engineered solution to the spring melt swimming hole at the dog park entrance!! and to Leddy & Kori of the SuDog 300 Sled Dog Race Board; Robin, Roland, Gordon and Don of Willow Church of the Rock; and Bill, Wendy, Vic, Marty, Chuck and Laurel from the Youth Forum committee & community for the the wheelbarrowed gravel to fix that low spot!!! We are grieving the tragedy of the Caswell 27 with the rest of the community. This week we sent a statement to over a dozen offices requesting justice for Woody, Birdie and their 25 kennelmates who we lost this winter.
