Williamston United Methodist Church

Williamston United Methodist Church Williamston UMC welcomes people of all cultures, races, genders, sexualities, and backgrounds

Here at Williamston United Methodist Church, we believe God loves all human beings without exception. Because we believe this, we welcome people of all races, cultures, and ethnicities; all ages, abilities, and perspectives; all gender and
sexual identities, or if you are questioning your identity. We welcome you whether you pray or not, are exploring your beliefs or have a long-held faith; whethe

r you are healthy or struggling; whether you are a family of one or of many, of traditional or unconventional make-up. We believe in the social justice principles of the United Methodist Church, and we acknowledge past failures and injustices in our church and society. We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the ancestral land of the Anishinaabe First Nations people. We seek to address in our community and world the inequities that keep people marginalized. We are imperfect people, but with God’s love, in the fellowship of Jesus Christ, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we try our best to live out the gospel to transform our world so that one day all will be welcome everywhere.

Can you tell we are getting incredibly excited for our outdoor service in the park? We are counting down the days until Sunday, June 21st, to celebrate our 30th Anniversary as a Reconciling Congregation!

Since this is going to be such a big celebration, we have a quick list of friendly reminders to help you pack and prepare for a great morning at McCormick Park.

➡️ The Big Event: Worship starts at 10:00 AM with Bishop David Bard and the LanSing Out community choir. A free sandwich luncheon will follow right after the service.

➡️ What to Pack: Bring along your favorite lawn chairs, blankets, water bottles, and sunscreen.

➡️ Family-Friendly: Children are warmly welcome to participate in the celebration. There will be no nursery care that morning.

➡️ The Parking Plan: Please use side street parking near the church (or take a pass down High Street first). We are keeping the main church parking lot open specifically for our guest choir and speakers.

➡️ The Ride: A continuous shuttle will run between the church lot and McCormick Park all morning if you need a lift.

We can't wait to celebrate 30 years of being a welcoming, loving, and affirming community together. See you in the park on June 21st! ☀️

We are so excited for Sunday, June 21st! Join us at McCormick Park in Williamston at 10:00 AM as we celebrate a major milestone: our 30th Anniversary as a Reconciling Congregation. 🌈

For three decades, we have been intentionally committed to being a fully welcoming, loving, and affirming space for the LGBTQ+ community and absolutely everyone just as they are. We truly can't wait to celebrate this beautiful journey of inclusion with all of you.

To mark the occasion, we are thrilled to welcome Bishop David Bard to lead our outdoor worship, alongside an incredible performance by LanSing out, a spectacular 60-voice community choir.

Here is a quick checklist of logistical details to help you stay comfortable:

What to bring: Remember to pack your own lawn chairs or blankets, water bottles, sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, and bug spray. 🌞

• Families & Kids: There will be no nursery available that day. This is a fully family-friendly service, and children are warmly welcome to participate and celebrate alongside the congregation!

• Parking: Please use side street parking near the church (or take a pass down High Street first). We are reserving the main church parking lot specifically for the bishop and our guest choir.

• Shuttle Service: If you need assistance getting down to the park, a shuttle will be running continuously between the church lot and McCormick Park all morning.

Make sure to stay after the service for a free sandwich luncheon and fellowship right there in the park. 🌳🧺

This is a true community-wide celebration and absolutely everyone is welcome. See you out in the park on June 21st!

We are excited about the upcoming Heritage District UMC Celebration and encourage our congregation to attend!

This is a unique opportunity for our entire district to come together for fun, food, and fellowship. It is also a very special time to show our appreciation to some key leaders who are transitioning or retiring. We are gathering to honor:

⭐ Susan Henry, as she steps away from her work as District Treasurer.

⭐ Sarah Gillette, who is retiring from her work as a District Executive Assistant after 30+ years of incredible service!

⭐ Rev. LuAnn Rourke, who will no longer be our Superintendent as of July 1, 2026.

Here are all the details provided by the district leadership:

📅 WHEN: June 13, 2026
🕐 TIME: 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.
📍 WHERE: Pinckney Arise UMC, 11211 Dexter Pinckney Road, Pinckney MI 48169

What to expect:
The afternoon will begin with a time of worship and recognition for these leaders. Following that, everyone is invited to share a catered buffet and fellowship together.

A few notes from the host site:
Everyone is welcome! Arise UMC will be providing tents, tables, and chairs, but they did mention you might want to bring your own camp chair if you prefer.

Also, if you would like to express your personal thanks, there will be a designated area for cards for any of the staff.

For more info, you can visit Arise UMC’s website at arisechurch.org. Join us in celebrating these faithful servants as we all journey on! 🎈🎊
