We are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the natural, historic, and cultural resources of York River State Park.

Through labor, materials, community engagement, and advocacy, we advance the park's projects and its conservation mission.

Staying hydrated at the park is about to get a whole lot easier thanks to C&F Bank!

One of the biggest needs park staff identified this year was a new water bottle refilling station/water fountain for visitors, and thanks to C&F’s support, that project is now possible. That’s one of the really cool things about our sponsors - they help us tackle real park needs and projects that might otherwise have to wait.

C&F is a Virginia community bank focused on investing back into the communities they serve, and we’re grateful they chose to support York River State Park. Next time you refill your water bottle at the park, you’ll know who helped make it happen.

Want to watch a Bald Eagle return to the wild? Here's your chance. Head over to the park on Monday, June 15 at 1:00 PM as this magnificent bird takes flight once again.

On May 11, this Bald Eagle was rescued after being injured in a fight with another eagle and was later found to be suffering from lead poisoning.

Thanks to the incredible work of Wildlife Center of Virginia and Eastern Virginia Wildlife Rescue, she has made a full recovery and is ready to return to the wild.

Did you know the Friends group helps maintain the gardens and flower beds around the Visitor Center?

If you'd like to lend a hand, join us tomorrow (June 6) from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM for a morning of w**ding and sprucing things up. We'll meet in front of the Visitor Center.

Bring a water bottle and the park will provide the tools and gloves. Hope to see you there!

Calling all early birds! 🐦The park team is looking for a few volunteers to help direct parking for the Taskinas Creek Half Marathon this Sunday, June 7 from 6:00–8:00 AM.

It's a great way to help runners have a smooth start to their morning. We'll meet at the Visitor Center before the race gets underway.

There's a new Lead Interpreter at York River State Park — congrats to Paige!

You probably already know Paige from the gift shop or office, but they’re officially moving into interpretation and will now be leading programs and connecting visitors with the park in new ways.

Even cooler: Paige grew up visiting York River State Park as a kid. Now they get to help create those same kinds of memories for other people.

Honestly, they’re kind of our people — a local, family-owned business all about getting folks outside and enjoying the outdoors. Their support helps with everything from trail projects and volunteer days to park improvements and community programs throughout the park.

📍 We will meet in front of the Visitor Center to w**d the Friends Garden beds. Remember to bring your own water. The park will furnish the tools and gloves, but you are welcome to bring your own hand trowels.

Anybody know what kind of turtle this is? 🐢

One of our volunteers spotted this guy near the Visitor Center while clearing back some overgrowth around the sidewalk. The cleanup reopened the view of the osprey nest along the York River, so it should be much easier to spot on your next visit.

Big thanks to everyone who came out for Mountain Laurel Day! It was great seeing so many people out on the trails, asking questions, enjoying the blooms, hanging out with family and friends, and just spending time in the park.
