Great news! The James City County Planning Commission voted 5-1 to recommend against the proposed rezoning of Eastern State Hospital Parcel C to permit a large mixed-use development. Commission members expressed concerns about the lack of information about the project's environmental impacts and questions about the restoration of severely degraded streams on the property. A big THANK YOU to the members of the Planning commission for this courageous and well-considered decision.
The plan may go before the Board of Supervisors in May. Stay tuned...
