🚗☀️ Highland Ridge Car Show 2026! ☀️🚜

What a beautiful day for a car show! We had the perfect weather, plenty of hot dogs on the grill, and so many wonderful friends and family members who came out to spend the day with our residents. ❤️

From classic cars to tractors, there was something for everyone to enjoy—and even more smiles to go around! It was such a special day filled with great conversations, memories, sunshine, and community.

A HUGE shoutout to our incredible volunteers who make this event possible! 👏

❤️ And the countless volunteers who helped with setup, grilling and serving food, keeping things running smoothly, and escorting our residents throughout the day so they could enjoy every minute!

On Friday, we had so much fun kicking off the weekend with our friends at Maurices, who opened their doors ONE HOUR early just for our Highland Ridge residents! 💕 Our residents enjoyed shopping before the crowds, finding some great deals, and even receiving special gifts! 🎁

It was the perfect way to start a weekend of shopping, savings, and fun! 🛒💃

🌶️ Highland Ridge’s Life Enrichment Salsa-Off was SPICY! 🌶️

The smack talk was hot… but the salsa was hotter. 😏

🥄 Round 1: KC took down Cortnie.
🥄 Round 2: Janie sent Brooke packing.

And after all the chips were dipped and votes were counted… 🏆 Janie was crowned our Overall Salsa Champion!

✨ Introducing Our Employee of the Month! ✨

We’re excited to kick off a brand-new Highland Ridge tradition by recognizing team members who go above and beyond for our residents and one another.

Our very first Employee of the Month is Donna King! 🎉

If you ask our residents about Donna, you’ll likely hear her lovingly referred to as “Knee Pad Donna.” They say she’s incredibly caring, always takes the time to meet their needs, and never hesitates to lend a helping hand. Her quick wit, playful sarcasm, and wonderful sense of humor brighten everyone’s day and keep smiles on the faces of both residents and coworkers alike.

One thing is certain—you only have to ask Donna once, and you know the job will get done.

Donna, thank you for the compassion, dedication, and laughter you bring to Highland Ridge every single day. We appreciate you, and we’re so grateful to have you as part of our family. ❤️ Congratulations on being our very first Employee of the Month!

What an incredible reminder of what community is all about. ❤️

This morning at Highland Ridge, our residents enjoyed a Farmers Market where every item was completely free thanks to the generosity of our amazing volunteers and donors.

Seeing our residents browse the tables, pick out their favorite fresh produce, homemade treats, and other goodies brought so many smiles. It wasn’t just about the items—it was about the kindness, generosity, and love behind every donation.

To everyone who donated and volunteered, thank you for showing up for our residents. Your generosity created more than a Farmers Market; it created joy, connection, and a reminder that our community truly cares. We are so grateful for each and every one of you. 💚

Today, our Highland Ridge residents had the privilege of visiting The Wall That Heals in Brooklyn, Iowa—a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial that honors the 58,281 men and women who gave their lives during the Vietnam War. This moving memorial also pays tribute to the more than three million Americans who served our country with courage and sacrifice.

Walking alongside the Wall was more than a field trip—it was a chance to pause, remember, reflect, and honor the incredible bravery of those who answered the call to serve. For many of our residents, it brought back memories, stories, and emotions that will never be forgotten.

We are grateful for the opportunity to experience such a meaningful tribute. Thank you to all veterans, past and present, for your service, sacrifice, and dedication. ❤️🤍💙

There is something truly special about the bond between grandparents and grandchildren. ❤️ The games they play, the stories they share, the laughter they create, and even the simplest moments together often become the memories that last a lifetime.

Yesterday at Highland Ridge, we were blessed to host our annual Grand Camp! Grandchildren spent the day making unforgettable memories with their grandparents through bingo, water games, a delicious lunch, and plenty of smiles and laughter. Watching generations connect and simply enjoy being together was a beautiful reminder that time is one of the greatest gifts we can give.

🎣 Gone Fishin’! 🐟

This week our Highland Ridge residents cast a line and made some great memories during a fishing trip to Kinze! From sharing stories on the water to celebrating every bite (big or small!), it was the perfect day to enjoy the outdoors, fresh air, and even better company.

A huge thank you to Kinze Manufacturing, Inc. for hosting us and helping make this fun-filled adventure possible. Here’s to tight lines, lots of laughs, and another wonderful day of making memories together! 💙☀️
