4 Paws Rescue

4 Paws Rescue Visit PetSmart on 12th street in Ogden to meet our adoptable cats, or visit our Petfinder! 🐾 She is a mother of 3, and works a full time job of over 30 years.

4 Paws Rescue is a branch of Four Paws Rescue, Shannon Hunt is the director of this branch. For the last 13 years she has also chosen to be involved in animal rescue, and help animals In need of her rescuing. You might say her life is quite busy!

4 paws rescue takes animals from shelters when they are at risk of euthanasia, or from owners when the owners can no longer care for them. Most of the f

unding for the medical expenses and supplies and food for the animals come out of Shannon, or other volunteer's personal finances. This is why donations are very important and very much appreciated. We get all animals spayed or neutered, Get them current on shots, dentals, and also other things such as surgeries if the animal has been injured, or is in need of surgery. We then put them up for adoption, and find suitable homes for them. We have adoption events every Saturday at the Riverdale Petco from 2-8pm. Animals can be seen there, or by appointment. We do not own an animal shelter. Rescue animals are housed in foster homes until they are adopted. We do not euthanize the animals, or take them to any shelter. WANT TO BECOME A FOSTER PARENT? The process of becoming a foster parent is, filling out a foster application. Once you are approved, you may choose a suitable animal. You then take that animal home with you for the week. Every Saturday you bring them to the Riverdale petco, drop them off, and then pick them up if they aren't adopted. This is repeated until the animal gets adopted. Once the animal is adopted they may choose another animal to foster. ADOPTION PROCESS

The way our adoption process works is, you will be required to fill out an application, and then fill out a contract. This is mostly for our files, and keeping track of each animal in our rescue. We can then use them look back on these files if for any reason we may need to contact the adopter(s). We will talk with you and ask you questions to ensure we are comfortable with the adoption, you also will be able to ask all the questions you may feel the need too! If everything on your application looks good, you will pay the adoption fee (cats $60) (dogs $125, $150, or $175)
The reason we charge adoption fee's is because we pay for the medical expenses and supplies for the entirety of the time we have the animals. Whenever we have an animal come in that requires surgery often times costing over $300 we still charge a regular adoption fee. This is also another reason donations are very appreciated. All of our animals are required to be indoor animals. We have the right to refuse, or rescind an adoption if the contract is violated.
