🦜 RESCUE HIGHLIGHT: FINLEY NEEDS A HOME!

Since FEBRUARY, Finley has been patiently waiting for someone to choose him. Could that someone be YOU?

Meet Finley, a handsome 4-year-old Green-Cheeked Conure who is ready to start the next chapter of his life with a loving family!

Like every bird, Finley has his own personality and boundaries. While he does wonderfully outside his cage, he can be cage aggressive when someone tries to get him out. He’ll need an adopter who understands his boundaries, respects his space, and is willing to work patiently with him. Finley also prefers to be the ONLY bird in the home, as he does not get along with other birds. He’s very sassy at times and can occasionally take a nibble out of you! 😂

But once he’s out of his cage and comfortable with his people, Finley’s personality shines! He’s vocal, curious, playful, cuddly, and he absolutely loves head scratches from his favorite humans. He’s a special little guy with so much love to give, and he deserves a home where he can feel safe.

Even if you can’t adopt, sharing this post could make all the difference. You never know who might be looking for a sweet, cuddly little Green Cheeked Conure to share their life with!

Community, I’m not sure what’s in the air lately, but our rescue continues to be hit with one medical case after another. We have a few updates to share, and although you helped us reach an incredible goal for Ron, we are facing another very large financial need.

On September 5, Alfredo, a 75 year old Amazon, was left in our care during the final stage of her life. We picked her up from Murray Animal Hospital along with an outstanding veterinary bill of $916.17. She is now receiving supportive hospice care at the rescue, including syringe feedings and 4 daily medications. Our goal is to keep her safe, comfortable, and deeply loved for whatever time she has left.

Our next case is Roady, a cockatiel found Wednesday in the middle of the road by Sweet Hazel & Co. He was taken to Murray Animal Hospital, where his initial expenses were generously covered by donors and True Hearts for Healing Paws Rescue. One of our volunteers, Brittany N. Spilinek picked him up Thursday from the hospital with severe head trauma and a ruptured air sac, but he had to return to the hospital on Friday because he was not eating. After being fed, he was released to us with an additional bill of $177.96, which RMAR covered.

By Saturday, Roady had been brought to the rescue. We fed him, but it quickly became clear that he was still in critical condition and needed immediate hospitalization. We transported him to our veterinary team at Mountain West Veterinary Specialists, where he is currently receiving oxygen, assisted feedings, and close monitoring. His estimated bill there is already $889, and we are desperately hoping his condition and quality of life begin to improve.

Between Alfredo and Roady, RMAR is currently responsible for nearly $2,000 in veterinary expenses and Roady’s total may continue to rise.

We know our community has already done so much, especially for Ron, and we never take that generosity for granted and I never ask unless truly needed. Right now, we could use every prayer, good thought, donation, and share. Even if you cannot donate, sharing their stories may help them reach someone who can.
