💚 We need your help! 💚

In just one month, our Patreon support dropped from 68% of our goal down to 52%. Patreon is what helps keep our rescue doors open by covering essential monthly expenses like our lease, storage, utilities, and gas.

Our goal is $1,900 per month so adoption fees and fundraisers can go directly toward what the birds need most: veterinary care, medications, food, toys, perches, and cleaning supplies.

Patreon memberships start at just $1 a month and include exclusive access to see photos of new arrivals during quarantine before they’re available to the public.

We are currently only 52% funded. Every dollar truly makes a difference. Rescue work takes a village, and YOU are our village. Thank you for helping us continue to be a voice and refuge for parrots in need. 💚🦜

✨VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT ✨

Hello! I'm Brittany. I'm a biochemist living in Salt Lake City with a 3 bird, 1 dog flock. In my free time I thoroughly enjoy reading, video games, embroidery/cross stitch, and martial arts.

I have a fierce love for animals, but especially birds. In July 2025 I unexpectedly lost my soul bird to cancer. I sought "bird therapy" at RMAR, and immediately fell in love with the rescue. Amanda was so kind to me and her passion for helping birds was contagious. I knew this is where I wanted to be. The RMAR volunteers are an incredible group and working with them brings me as much joy as working with the birds! Helping these birds thrive and finding their forever homes has truly been the most rewarding, soul-mending experience of my life.

Please do not use nonstick cookware, candles, plug-ins, smoke, aerosol sprays, or essential oil diffusers around birds. Birds have extremely sensitive respiratory systems, and fumes that seem harmless to us can kill a bird in minutes.

Some of the biggest hidden dangers include:
• Teflon and nonstick pans
• Self-cleaning ovens
• Air fresheners
• Perfumes and sprays
• Cigarette smoke
• Scented candles
• Diffusers and essential oils

If you have birds, fresh air is your best friend.

The rescue world glorifies “saving them all,” but sustainable rescues survive because they are able to confidently say “We do not currently have capacity.”

That is responsible rescue work. 💚

Meet Morgan (Blue & Gold) and Mooney (Green Wing), a deeply bonded pair who recently lost their world. Their dad, who was their primary caregiver, passed away unexpectedly and their mom is battling dementia and unable to care for them. These two have spent their lives together. Morgan is quite the character with a very impressive vocabulary… heavy on the potty words while Mooney is a bit more reserved (and less vulgar… for now 😅). They were accustomed to a life with lots of freedom, spending much of their time outdoors in the backyard with severely clipped wings or relaxing in their large aviary. They have been in foster for a month, and will be ready to go to their new home within a few weeks. If you’re interested in adopting these beautiful babes to keep them together, please fill out an application or if you’re already approved, reach out to me personally via email at [email protected] 💚💚

Fritz is OUT of quarantine and clearly feeling the joy of his newfound freedom while he waits for his forever family. Watching him light up with excitement and wiggle around with pure happiness has been the best reward. 🥹

Now that we know he’s healthy and thriving, Fritz is ready to find a home of his own where he can keep showing off those adorable dance moves!

Interested in adopting Fritz? Fill out an application today or schedule an appointment if you’re already approved! 💚
