Hi all,
CLEANUP OCT 24th CANCELLED!

The Wickenburg Clean and Beautiful clean-up for this Saturday, October 24th at the BLM trailhead above Box is cancelled.

Reasons: Oncoming storm, especially in the Hassayampa River watershed, deep sand in the riverbed and not that much trash!

Next cleanup :
Sponsored by BLM and the National Environmental Education Foundation’s keep our public lands clean event.

Saturday: November 21, 2026
Time: 9 Sharp to 12 noon
Location: Sophie Flat BLM Trailhead. From Wickenburg, Arizona, travel east on Constellation Road for approximately 2.9 miles to Blue Tank Road. Turn left onto Blue Tank Road and travel approximately 1.4 miles to the trailhead.

You can also go to the internet and type in Sophie Flat, Wickenburg for details.
WHAT TO BRING: Off road vehicle 4 wheel drive or car ok.
Clothes appropriate to weather, your own gloves, a good sense of adventure and a smile!
WHAT WE WILL PROVIDE: Bags, grab sticks, buckets, vests, latex gloves, water, breakfast burritos, guides to the different areas and other surprises.

We will be sending people out to Constellation Road, Box Canyon if accessible and safe, and maybe Vulture Peak area. We will know more as time nears. You will have guides.

WICKENBURG CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL MATCHES NATIONAL TRENDS

Wickenburg Conservation Foundation’s Wickenburg Clean and Beautiful (WCB) program has resulted in a decline in local littering, mirroring the findings of Keep America Beautiful’s recently released 2026 National Litter Study Summary Report. The study reports a 34% reduction in litter along roadways and waterways, indicating a growing nationwide commitment to keep communities clean.

Locally, WCB recorded a 22% reduction in litter on Wickenburg area public recreational lands from 2024 to 2025. While the location and types of litter differ somewhat from the national study, the downward trends are consistent. The national report also highlighted a significant increase in discarded tires and related debris on the roads, WCB has not seen a similar increase but continues to clean up existing tire dump sites.

WCB’s commitment to keeping public lands around Wickenburg clean and safe includes partnerships with Bureau of Land Management and Arizona State Land Department; regular desert cleanups; community education; and a Box Canyon trailhead ambassador program promoting responsible recreation.

“Continued community support and participation is key to maintaining these positive trends,” noted WCB chairman Judy Rice. “Together, we can protect our desert and contribute to a cleaner America.”

A man was seen trying to dump this chair on Rincon Road. He was caught so he tried to stuff it into Wickenburg Clean and Beautiful dumpster at Box Canyon parking lot .
This dumpster is paid for by the non-profit, WCB and to be used by people recreating in Box Canyon, NOT HOUSEHOLD TRASH.
The dumpster has made a difference in the trashing of Box but if used by households, we will have to remove it.
PLEASE KEEP OUR DESERT CLEAN by packing in and packing out!🎉🎉🎉🎉

Great cleanup today by Wickenburg Clean and Beautiful and sponsored by SNAP FITNESS! Thanks Andre Melander !!!
Yummy donuts and coffee and we took off to Box Canyon and Constellation Road.

Most of trash came from an abandon RV on constellation near the Shooting range. There was 1008 pounds removed from BLM land at this one area.

Now working with BLM to remove RV. Box Canyon not bad but some people left chair and metal cylinder. Gads!

Thanks to our 21 volunteers who really worked hard to keep our desert clean and safe today.

PLEASE DONT TRASH. Pack in and pack a little more out. Thank you.
