WICKENBURG CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL MATCHES NATIONAL TRENDS

Wickenburg Conservation Foundation’s Wickenburg Clean and Beautiful (WCB) program has resulted in a decline in local littering, mirroring the findings of Keep America Beautiful’s recently released 2026 National Litter Study Summary Report. The study reports a 34% reduction in litter along roadways and waterways, indicating a growing nationwide commitment to keep communities clean.

Locally, WCB recorded a 22% reduction in litter on Wickenburg area public recreational lands from 2024 to 2025. While the location and types of litter differ somewhat from the national study, the downward trends are consistent. The national report also highlighted a significant increase in discarded tires and related debris on the roads, WCB has not seen a similar increase but continues to clean up existing tire dump sites.

WCB’s commitment to keeping public lands around Wickenburg clean and safe includes partnerships with Bureau of Land Management and Arizona State Land Department; regular desert cleanups; community education; and a Box Canyon trailhead ambassador program promoting responsible recreation.

“Continued community support and participation is key to maintaining these positive trends,” noted WCB chairman Judy Rice. “Together, we can protect our desert and contribute to a cleaner America.”

A man was seen trying to dump this chair on Rincon Road. He was caught so he tried to stuff it into Wickenburg Clean and Beautiful dumpster at Box Canyon parking lot .
This dumpster is paid for by the non-profit, WCB and to be used by people recreating in Box Canyon, NOT HOUSEHOLD TRASH.
The dumpster has made a difference in the trashing of Box but if used by households, we will have to remove it.
PLEASE KEEP OUR DESERT CLEAN by packing in and packing out!🎉🎉🎉🎉

Great cleanup today by Wickenburg Clean and Beautiful and sponsored by SNAP FITNESS! Thanks Andre Melander !!!
Yummy donuts and coffee and we took off to Box Canyon and Constellation Road.

Most of trash came from an abandon RV on constellation near the Shooting range. There was 1008 pounds removed from BLM land at this one area.

Now working with BLM to remove RV. Box Canyon not bad but some people left chair and metal cylinder. Gads!

Thanks to our 21 volunteers who really worked hard to keep our desert clean and safe today.

PLEASE DONT TRASH. Pack in and pack a little more out. Thank you.

Wickenburg Clean and Beautiful would like to thank @ ARIZONAHORSECOMPANY for their generous donation of horse rides to 18 people with WCB keeping the proceeds! This is a huge benefit and allows us to continue to pay for our dump fees! They are a wonderful business, providing excellent horses and capable and thoughtful wranglers.
