The members of Soroptimist International of Wickenburg would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the members of Elks BPOE #2160 for choosing us (for the fourth year) as their service organization for the month of January. We truly appreciate their generosity. The money raised for our club through their bar bingo nights was amazing and we sincerely appreciate their efforts! What fun and rewarding nights! So wonderful to see such a worthwhile organization as the Elks supporting our service organization (Soroptimist International of Wickenburg) in our scholarships and awards.

Soroptimist celebrate Soroptimist Saturday of Service

Soroptimist International of Wickenburg joined with over 90,000 members throughout the world in celebrating Soroptimist Saturday of Service. Soroptimist Saturday of Service occurs on the first Saturday of March and is one of the signature projects of Soroptimist International of the Americas to participate in a community service project.

This year members of Soroptimist International of Wickenburg were honored to choose Melissa’s Closet (an Elk’s Lodge project) as their community service project. Soroptimist members donated food staples for school children who are in need of nourishment to last them over the weekend plus a check for $1,000.

Members of Soroptimist International of Wickenburg hosted an awards luncheon at the Wickenburg Country Club to honor this year's Live Your Dream awardees. Each recipient received a check in the amount of $5,000.

Soroptimist members are so proud of each of our recipients and wish them our best wishes and continued success in their future endeavors.

So far this year Soroptimist International of Wickenburg has had a successful year serving our community.

We funded eight ( 8 ), $1,000.00- 4-year renewal scholarships, choose 2 Christmas families and presented them with checks for $500.00 each, awarded 2 women with $4,000 each as recipients of our Live Your Dream program and chose Melissa’s Cupboard (charity of the Elks) for our Soroptimist Saturday of Service, donating items for residents in need through the Elks.

The Christmas family checks were awarded at a luncheon held at the Wickenburg Country Club.

Helping families at any time of the year is always so rewarding but at Christmas it is extra special.

And then……Members of Soroptimist International of Wickenburg hosted a luncheon and award ceremony at the Wickenburg Country Club to honor this year’s Live Your Dream recipients. Soroptimist members were honored to award checks in the amount of $4,000 to each recipient.

One recipient is a mother working toward her B.S. degree. She attends AZ College of Nursing completing her studies in December 2025.

She stated, “She loves her job as she is hands on with her patient care”, but her main goal after graduation is to work as an operating room nurse.

She also wants to pursue more education and specialize as a psychiatric nurse practitioner as “she feels that mental health is a continuous work in progress in America making it truly my passion to help others and break the stigma”.

Another recipient is starting her education journey later in life, but better late than never. She is pursuing a degree in nursing as a ultrasound technician.

She stated, “she is grateful and thankful for receiving an award to help her pursue her dream”.

Members of Soroptimist International of Wickenburg are proud and honored to award all our recipients and wish them future success in their endeavors.
