It is part of the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. These women tutored a young lady to qualify for college entrance which prompted interest and involvement in education. The History Club joined the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and the Tex

as Federation of Women’s Clubs in 1915. Some of the activities of The HCW are providing scholarships to graduating seniors of WHS; giving to Your Neighbor’s House food pantry, MD Anderson, Heifer International, Canine Companions, the local library, the tri-county women’s crisis center, and the local nursing home. HCW sponsors the annual Tour of Homes (held in December) and co-sponsors the annual art show (held in March) with the PARD. The club meets monthly at the First United Methodist Church. A special program is followed by a business meeting. HCW is a member of Keep Whitesboro Beautiful and the Chamber of Commerce. HCW is a non profit organization. The History Club had the pleasure of honoring 4 of the 5 scholarship recipients at last night’s meeting. This year, the club proudly awarded 5 scholarships to deserving students.

We are incredibly thankful for the support of our community, because without you, accomplishments like this would not be possible. Your continued support allows us to invest back into the future of our students and community.

Last night also marked a special transition as we said goodbye to outgoing President Donna Parkinson and welcomed incoming President Keisha Head, along with our new board members. We thank Donna for her dedication and leadership and look forward to another great year ahead.

On Monday evening, the GFWC History Club of Whitesboro had the privilege of hosting the Whitesboro Fire Department for an informative and hands-on CPR and AED demonstration.

Members learned valuable, potentially life-saving skills and gained confidence in how to respond during an emergency. We are grateful to our local firefighters for sharing their time, knowledge, and dedication to keeping our community safe.

Programs like this truly make a difference—thank you, Whitesboro Fire Department! ❤️
