Sights and sounds from our annual Spring Cub Family Weekend. With a record-setting 650+ attendees, and our first time with a camp-wide power outage, it was one to be remembered! Thank you to our incredible volunteers, camp staff, and council office staff who chipped in to make this event possible!

If you enjoyed the weekend at camp and are dying for more, we’ve got two great opportunities coming up soon.

Seeking a qualified and passionate individual to serve as our Aquatics Director this summer. The aquatics director oversees a staff of 5-8 lifeguards/instructors at the pool and Lake Straus.

All meals and room/board covered during the summer camp season (June 17-August 6) in our newly renovated staff cabins! And - Our camp staff scholarship program, where you could earn up to $3,500 in scholarship funds, eligible for any postsecondary education - college, community college, trade school, graduate school, professional certification, etc.

Come work with us! We are seeking a committed individual (or multiple individuals) to serve as an offseason trading post clerk to support the year-round operation of the trading post retail store, with typical work hours primarily on Saturdays for 3-6 hours, with occasional extended hours available for special events.

The camp trading post plays a pivotal role in the year-round camp operation, and the trading post clerk is a customer service representative for camp, interacting with most weekend campers on property throughout the year.

We are seeking self-starting and organized individuals with a customer service mindset and an eye for detail; previous retail experience encouraged but not required. Regular duties include, but not limited to:
- Operating point of sale system
- Stocking shelves
- Cleaning the retail area, bathrooms, and equipment
- Handling cash
- Fulfilling online orders
- Product ordering and thoughtful suggestions for new products
- Manage annual end-of-year inventory

Compensation: $15.00-20.00/hour depending on experience

The councils of Council Service Territory (CST) 12 are blessed with some of the best summer resident camp programs and facilities in the world. Our camps are nestled in some of the most scenic and inspiring locations, including the tranquil shores of the Chesapeake Bay, the rolling landscapes of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, the rugged beauty of the Laurel Highlands in Pennsylvania, the breathtaking wilderness of West Virginia, and the majestic Allegheny National Forest, among other beautiful sites in the continents of Europe and Africa.

Only three of the over twenty resident camp programs will have ended by the time that the final preparations for the National Jamboree start this summer. Many of our camps will have staff members leaving early to attend the jamboree or participate in some other activities like Band Camp or fall sports team preparation events.

One goal of each camp is to provide a high level of service to their attendees regardless of what session they attend.

Please consider reaching out to the Camp Director of your council camp or other camp in CST 12 to see if you can back fill a staff position if you are not planning to attend the jamboree. Experienced and mature Scouters have a lot to offer to resident camp programs and can many times fill a critical role for the camp program.
